We have an x100t and an x70.

 

On the x100t it takes less than a single rotation of the focus ring to move the focus indicator in the viewfinder from closest to furthest focus. On the x 70 it takes almost 2 rotations to move the indicator the same distance.

 

Is that normal? I realise the x 70 isn't really the most efficient manual focus camera given the narrowness and grip-ability of the focus ring (it's primarily a auto-focus device), but the distance the ring needs to move to get from closest to furthest distance seems excessive.

Yes unfortunately it's normal. Hope fuji will fix this with future firmware. X70 and manual focusing is definitely not a good combination.
