Red foxes playing

Hi folks,

Last sunday I was shooting big raptors such vultures, kites and eagles. We left some carrion in front of the photo hide to attract them.

Suddenly two beautiful young foxes came from the bush and ate some carrion. After this they started playing in front of me. They were about 15 meters far from me. Fortunately I was shooting with the Fuji XF100-400mm, so I got enough close to them.

You can see more pictures on my website: www.josecarpin.com

Compliments, fantastic pictures, these and the others. Thanks for posting. I see the fox occasionally and other wild animals more often when cycling, but I do not carry a camera when I am on the bike.

Thanks man!!!! What kind of animals to you use to see while cycling?

Cheers!

Small Carpathian Mountains: deer, mouflon, wild boar, once I saw a wolf & two cubs up above on the edge of a high cliff, owl, birds of prey. Bears are abundant in Slovakia but further away in the bigger mountain ranges. When I go to other parts of Slovakia then I ride the road bike, so I don't see many animals, but at home I use both the road bike and the mountain bike so I see animals quite often.

Agreed George!

Carpathians are the wildest area of Europe! I wish I could visit this amazing place! You are lucky living there!

I hope you see your pictures too! Don't hesitate to upload them here!

Keep well

Thank you

Well if you decide to visit do not hesitate to contact me for support. I have a friend who has a skiing resort in Low Tatras who will provide accomodation free of charge if I ask him and another who is a photographer and lives close to the High Tatras. Best wishes, cheers.

    • Hi Guy, I need a secondary Fuji X to back-up my X-H2 cheeply.   I sold my X-T2 to get the X-H2 beause I wanted to increase my AF hit rate. That being said, can you comment on the hit rates between X-H1, X-T3, and X-T4 in 2024? With all having the latest firmware, is there a big jump in AF performace between the three? Thanks, Tomek
    • oh wow, that is very odd.  Can you not simply put any version you want onto a formated SD card, and install it like every other priece of hardware on the planet?   @botty have you tried a different lens, or updating the firmware on your lens (if thats the only one you have one)?
    • A while back Apple put a security update in its operating system that requires users to give permission for USB C or Thunderbolt connected devices to transfer data back and forth between the device and the computer. If the user did not give permission, the  device could only use the USB or Thunderbolt port for battery charging. Initially, this update was only for laptops, they may have brought it over to desktop computers later. As far as I know, if the user accidentally does not give access permission, there is no easy way to reset this for a single device, but there is sort of a work-around described in the release notes: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-13-release-notes Does this help?
    • Unless this has changed - its never been possible to revert back to a prior firmware version on Fujifilm cameras
    • Has anyone else noticed that since one of the recent firmware updates: the GFX 100s will not connect to a Mac of any age via USB cable. I am currently on FW 2.11 on my GFX 100s. Using USB-C the camera will connect to both iOS and Windows and we can see and download image files. But now when connecting it via cable to a Mac - the camera will not show up at all.   I have been reporting this to Fuji support but it has not gone anywhere for months. TIA. John
