Using old Canon Speedlite 199A Flash

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm new to Fuji cameras world and this forum, actually new to digital photography.

I still use my Canon FD gears and film for photography and i love it but recently all E6 laboratories closed in my area and i need to use digital cameras for color photos (it's hard to find Pro color negatives here).

After some research i find a Fuji camera is that i need, a camera that be similar to film cameras in controls and ergonomic.

So i purchased a second hand X-E1 to have an experience and  if it be good i will go for better cameras like X-t1.

I like to use some of my old gears and already i have a FD convert ring for lenses, i just like to know can i use My Canon Speedlite 199A flash in manual mode with Fuji cameras?

Yes, you can use the 199A on Fujifilm cameras.

In fact, you can utilize the 199A's on board auto circuitry to adjust it's own lighting. Just set the settings to reflect your camera's or vice versa. Some fine adjustments are required of course.

The 199A's flash temperature is slightly lower / warmer than modern speedlights so, you need to keep that in mind.

And oh yes.....the recycle time......
