This may be a redundant question, but would charging a NP-W126S battery in the BC-W126 charger (designed to charge the older NP-W126 battery) cause any damage to the battery?

From what I can see, the only difference between the two chargers is the output current;
…the output of the BC-W126 charger is 8.4V DC / 0.6A.
…the output of the BC-W126S charger is 8.4V DC / 0.75A

Would it simply be that the older charger would charge the battery slower?

Thanks!

Yes, but this difference works out to be minor also because the battery capacities are indeed different, but not humongously so. I use the older charger to charge the newer batteries without any problems.

What you have to watch out for is voltage differences, these can destroy your equipment by causing overheating or outright zapping it.

    • An update on this , I got an email my from regional fujifilm support saying that it should be zero, so now I’m not sure what to think.. I sent them email again asking them if this qc claim can be true, but no response yet. A lot of posts on internet say that their cameras came with some photos taken due to qc, and also ChatGPT tells me fujifilm support is wrong … I wonder if I should contact fujifilm global support.   A couple more questions that trouble me: Camera came with battery at around 75% is this normal? Shouldn’t it be 0? Also I hear a constant low humming /fan like noise from camera. It stops when I enter photo viewing mode. Thanks
    • I forgot how to remove the battery door so I can attach the grip.  I downloaded the manual for camera and grip and I can’t find the directions.  I don’t want to break it.

      Ho! ... Ho! ... Ho!
    • Yes will contact them, my concern is they might sold me a used camera as new ( don’t know how feasible that is), considering the fact that it also has 163 shutter count as a new camera.
    • What @Olaf W. said. The U.S. retailers such as BHPhoto, Adorama, etc. have listings of what is supposed to be in the box, and they do list the wall socket adapters. As Olaf mentions, contact Amazon, it could just be a mistake of some sort.
