Hi all

took my x100t out after a while in storage, both batteries dead and wouldn’t recharge. Assumed they were dead after a several month period with no charge, bought a new battery, charged it over night: shows one battery bar on the camera display.

the charger seems to be working (LED light comes on).

what might be happening? Is it the charger or the camera?

thanks for any ideas

but generally pretty good

In my experience the battery indicator does not work correctly with some non-genuine batteries. You could test how long the camera will actually work with one bar battery indicator, the battery might be fully loaded.

I have one Fuji original and one Power2000 that are still OK, this November they'll be 10 years old when I bought X100. Both are  allowing hundreds of images to be taken, both were fully discharged several times. I did have a B&H house brand battery for Nikon not take a charge after complete discharge, that one was about nine years old.

If I were you, I wouldn't just throw those batteries away, as they are very toxic and highly polluting. It is better to give them to people who are engaged in recycling. I for example use ZeroWaste rubbish removal services, they take my trash and then they either recycle it or dispose of it, I think it's environmentally friendly and the right thing to do. I think you need to do more research on the product before you buy it, so you don't have to repeat the same story later. Think about nature, guys.
