Hilarious first scene  :D  that lens that was mounted when the girl was startled? ... that must have a BIG scratch onto the front lens  :blink:.

 

When I see the level of almost sterility of this operation I cannot keep on wondering how can we find lenses with specs of material, dust and hair in new unopened boxes ( I have, my first copy of my 10-24 was returned because of some black particle inside).

The acting in these is so bad it's funny.. Also, they need a tripod for their video shots :-)

 

Like some of the "cool" and "hip" videos we were forced to watch in school.

 

Likewise on the quality control. I had to send in my 56 APD twice. After it came back the first time, it had actually become worse...

well, I suppose that the first time it came from the production and the second time came from a repair facility.

 

But it is very unsettling that such an expensive and special lens ( I am talking of the 56mm APD not the 35mm )  would be released with any defects.

It started out ok for the first few shoots I used it on, then on the third or fourth shoot, I saw that focus was missed on nearly all shots, even the ones shot at apertures of 5.6 and higher... It also started making huge amounts of noise when focussing... So I sent it in.

 

When it came back after 5 weeks, it was even worse. Nearly impossible to use. Repair sheet said they replaced the focussing motor. I sent it back in, after lots of mailing back and forth. They didn't quite believe me.

 

When it came back the second time, after 9 weeks, the repair sheet stated "optical assembly replaced". So basically, they changed nearly all the internals from what I'm reading?

But they failed to test it prior to releasing? Incredible!

 

Well under my expectations.

 

A bit like my X-E1 which was sent in(  took forever to go to the German lab and back 8 weeks including 2 weeks at the shop repair facility, 1 week out, 1 week the way in ) for oil and dust on the sensor and came back with that cured but sporting a huge hair (that couldn’t be removed by me or the shop!) so big that you didn’t even have to see it on the computer screen, it was visible on the LCD screen of the camera!

 

There was a report of all they had done but obviously nobody had looked at the camera before releasing it! Maybe from Belgium, they sent your lens to the same facility ( since The Netherlands don’t appear to have their own Fuji repair lab). The shop offer to refund me the buying price in order to buy another camera and I decided to upgrade to the X-T1.

Yeah, I sent mine to the Netherlands, that's where I bought it. So must have gone through the same routing as yours...

 

Fuji has a long way to go to convince pro's... This is why most of them are still swearing by Canikon... And I don't blame them...
