AFS keeps searching for focus as if it's AFC

When I am in AFS, the camera keeps searching for focus, humming and move in and out slightly, and the focus light in the display goes on and off.

Scroll through the menu and find “pre-focus” and turn it off. It causes the behavior you describe.  In short, prefocus causes the lens to continually hunt for focus in anticipation of you pressing the shutter.

Thanks man, i just bought 35mm/f2 and was like wtf is wrong with that AF-S, that hunts like AF-C... and thanks to this thread i realized that it is really that PRE-AF. And suprisingly made even my old 27mm much more silent
