No new 100-400 lenses available in the US

What's going on with the availability of this lens? Is it out of production? It's on back order everywhere in the US.

Options:

• can pay a 10% premium at Henry's of Canada (not sure if this is a US model) 
• can save about 10% with an international model at Abe's of Maine
• 2 eBay stores have it in stock for full retail, possible warranty issues  
• a few used ones on ebay at about a 20% savings
• the Fuji Store on Amazon Prime is not offering it at all.

I don't think it's out of production.

My local shop is out of stock of the X-T4 (body only). B&H and Amazon are currently also out of stock (body only version).

Perhaps an issue with electronic chips not being produced fast enough due to covid. My local car dealerships' parking lots are 70% empty as well.

Ordered one during the sale before Christmas. Still nothing. Vendor could provide no explanation. Bought it for baseball season, which is well underway. Never had anything like this happen.

I was on a notification list for months for that 100-400 lens. I finally gave up on it.

I found one used on Facebook Marketplace was listed as like New it was. guy started at 1300 the 1200 he got desperate I bought it for 900 dollars absolutely mint condition only shot a couple dozen pics all I can say is WOW!!!
