I keep trying to download the new firmware update to my X100 V, but it keeps downloading to VLC and I can't seem to get the firmware to download by itself. Anyone have any suggestions? Going crazy.

it's because vlc is the default program to open .DAT files in your computer . uninstall vlc ,and that will reset the default file extension to vlc , then try downloading again !. or if you have internet download manager , then you can right click on the download link and choose download with idm (you can also use any other download manager's , like free download manager or jdownloader etc..), to download the file directly without uninstalling vlc. i hope this helps . have a nice day !

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. Been out of town with cameras but no computer, no phone. (Glorious!) I took your advice when I had computer access again and used a download mgr and...voila! Thank you.
