How to mount 77 mm filters on the fuji xf 10-24mm lens?

I have just bought a fuji xf 10-24mm and an 77 mm-72 mm adapter to mount my 77mm filters on the lens. I can mount the filters on the adapter, but I can't mount the adapter on the lens... In the Fuji Manual, it is written that diameter for filter is 72mm, but the external diameter of the lens is 78mm. I wonder if it is the reason of the problem. What kind of adapter should I buy?

 Your link says you have a 77-72 STEP DOWN adapter ring

You need a 72 - 77 STEP UP adapter which will have a 72 mm MALE thread you can attach to your lens
