XT3 log, hlg, and white balance settings

Hi, I’m currently newer to the Fuji system and I love it! When shooting in log and hlg, is it best to set the white balance using a white card when shooting in those modes modes? I've heard that some shooters prefer to set the white balance while in a standard mode (e.g. eterna) and then switch over to log or hlg. Additionally, I’ve heard that since log (and somewhat similarly hlg) are “raw” modes, you can shoot and then set the white balance in post. To me, it makes sense to set the white balance while shooting in log or hlg and then tweak as necessary in post. Any thoughts?
