  1. "when changing lenses" That's what you requested.
  2. Unlikely, since my X-Pro1 and X-Pro2 already have automatic OVF magnification level switching.
  3. ES readout time depends on the camera. Obviously, X-Trans III has a faster readout then X-Trans II. Fuji's official number for the latter is 1/10s. X-Trans III cuts this in half.
  4. I am not aware of any built-in film simulation that looks close to "real" analog film. Certain film simulations are inspired by specific analog films, but they aren't copies. If you want close copies of analog films, better get film packs from RNI or VSCO. I have hundreds of film simulations from these vendors, and most of them look pretty "real".
  5. Pro Neg Hi was already added in 2012.
  6. Since the 35mmF2 is more successful than planned and expected, a few more prime lenses in the small/affordable category are no surprise.
  7. Just press the VIEW MODE button until the desired mode appears—separately in shooting and playback mode, of course. It's part of my Pro1/E1 book, so it must have been there forever, because those books were written in 2012. Sadly, that button doesn't exist on the X-E2, and the assigned Fn equivalent doesn't work in playback mode (Fn buttons are shooting mode only).
  8. Sounds like a broken dial.
  9. I doubt that your X100S will stop working after some "imposed" or pre-planned date. My X100S works just fine, even the X100 Classic is still doing its job. So is my X100T, which sadly is the only EXR II/X-Trans II model that's still waiting for an update of the AF system to match the X-T1, X-E2, X-E2S and X-T10.
  10. Indeed. No lossless RAW support, no metadata support, no official film simulations (especially no ACROS). Basically the worst converter possible for the task at hand. Lightroom and Silkypix are the currently only converters with ACROS support.
  11. Capture One is useless with X-Pro2 files. Very bad advice.
  12. No Lexar problems here, but I only use fast cards (2000x) and never over 64 GB. Indeed, all my cards are 32 GB.
  13. Yes, 160 is the perfectly calibrated SOS value. Since such an odd value is hard to communicate to the masses, it's rounded to 200, which is fine by the SOS standard.
  14. Somewhat analog, somewhat digital up to 1600, from there only in the RAW converter.
  15. Laws of physics leave little choice to "do" stuff. Removing the CFA from a sensor always enhances base sensitivity.
  16. July 2-13 sounds okay, if the year is 2017.
  17. They are possible and users asked for them, so Fuji put them in the Pro2 (and probably all future models, too). Of course, you can always produce an ISO 100 RAW by simply overexposing one stop at ISO 200, then pull the data –1 EV in the built-in RAW or an external converter. That's exactly what the camera does before writing the ISO 100 RAW file. It's the same with extended high-ISO. EXR I/II cameras stopped at ISO 1600 and left all higher values to the RAW converter. X-Processor III burns everything up to ISO 25600 in the RAW file, so only ISO 51200 requires an additional 1 stop push during RAW conversion. As usual, Adobe took this single opportunity to mess things up in Lightroom, so imported ISO 51200 RAWs will look like ISO 25600 RAWs, because Adobe forgot the push. They also messed up other things like DR-Auto maker notes, once again providing proof that they don't give a shit about users of Fujifilm cameras.
  18. Actually, simulated ISO is more useful on dull days with little DR. On bright days, they do not change a thing. Btw, all Fuji models with base ISO 200 offer simulated ISO 100. The X-Pro2 also saves ISO 100 RAWs. Doesn't help at all on bright days, as highlight DR drops 1 stop. Btw, my books describe how it is implemented.
  19. Seven Fuji X models use ISO 100 as their base: X10, X20, X30, X-S1, XF1, XQ1, XQ2. That's because they use a different sensor type that has a different base sensitivity. IIRC, cameras such as the Arri Alexa use base ISO 800, and the Leica Monochrom uses base ISO 320.
  20. There are only three types of updates that appear to be reasonable for the X-T1: 1) Updates to bringt the X-T1 up to speed with the T10/E2/E2S, like adding the current UI of the T10/E2/E2S. 2) Updates that enhance T1-specific functions (like adding wifi tethering to the existing USB tethering). 3) Minor usability updates, compatibility updates and bug fixes There will obviously be an update to support the new flash system with wireless TTL and HSS. I don expect to see any updates of the 1 and 2 categories before the X-T2 is out.
  21. It's a firmware fix that will be rolled out with the next official firmware update.
  22. Use clutch lenses or adapted lenses.
