  1. I bought an X100T about 11 months ago and love the camera. I brought it with me on vacation this week and was showing it to my uncle and noticed the half-press of the shutter button was no longer working. No focus confirmation beep or green box. I've switched the the AF mode between AF-S, AF-C, and AF-M a few times. When on AF-M, the back focus continued to work so I don't think the issue is with the AF itself. I switched back to AF-S and it seems to focus prior to taking the photo with full shutter press, but not with the half press. I looked through the menus, but didn't see anything that would cause this. I did a complete reset of the camera and even updated the firmware. It now seems to work sporadically. Is this a malfunction of the shutter button? Has anyone else had this experience? I thought I'd check here prior to sending the camera in for repair.
  2. I moved to Fujifilm for the size and I wanted something smaller and lighter to travel with. I was very impressed with the lenses and image quality. I love the manual controls and the constant firmware updates. What started off as looking for a small, light travel camera has become my new go to system. I'm about 90% converted over to fujifilm now.
  3. Congratulations on getting the X100T. I was going to say saving you from buying it would be a bad thing. I was trying to decide between the 23mm F/1.4 and the X100T and ended up with both. I love shooting with the X100T. I've taken it as my only camera on a few trips already.
  4. to answer the OP's question, I have very little experience with film. I bought a Pentax 35mm point and shoot at 8 years old and used that until I bought my first digital camera in my teens. My uncle gave me an old Pentax SLR that I played with for a while, maybe 12 rolls of film or so. Everything else has been digital. I really liked the 5D Classic. As far as fujifilm cameras, it's really about the camera. I've always loved the look and feel of the old Pentax SLR I was given as well as classic rangefinders I've seen. I really liked the looks of the X100 and the X-Pro1, but didn't buy one. After the X-E1 came out and the price dropped, I ordered it. Partially because it reminded me of a Leica and partially because of the X-Tran sensor. It was somewhat of a love and hate relationship. The EVF lag and sluggish AF annoyed me. I loved everything else about it. I ordered the X-T1 and fell completely in love with it. I've since traded the X-E1 for the X-E2 and bought the X100T and both are excellent. I will probably sell the X-E2 and buy the X-Pro2 when it comes out. I think that will be the perfect combination of features. I love having the OVF and EVF in the X100T. Of course image quality matters too and the fujifilm cameras deliver there as good or better than anyone else.
  5. I bought the black one since I preordered it and the graphite one was not yet announced. I had the silver X-E1 and have the silver X-100T. I agree with the comments about the silver one being less scary to people as they act more comfortable around it. That aside, I'd probably go with silver or graphite on the next one I buy for another reason. Summers in central Florida are very hot and the sun is intense. The silver definitely stays cooler when out during the day.
  6. I have an X-E2, X-T1, and an X-100T. Overall I think they are great cameras with excellent image quality and they are more fun to shoot with than my DSLR. The battery of my DSLR definitely lasted longer, but I understood the X cameras wouldn't have the battery life going into it. First, the fact the camera is mirrorless means the sensor is always on. Second the batteries are physically much smaller and lighter, though I haven't looked at capacity ratings. I bought wasabi batteries for the w126 battery and two other brands for for the X100T. Most of the time the batteries do well overall, but I think it fair to expect only the rated number of photos. I have noticed some rapid draining recently with the X-T1, and was trying to figure out what it was that caused it. I'm not sure if it is related to the new firmware or the extra warm temps we are experiencing. I had 2 Wasabi batteries deplete within 50 images, but after I recharged them, they seemed to be back to normal. Normally they are about equal to the Fuji batteries. I don't mind carrying a few extra batteries over the extra weight and size of the DSLR. I've found the battery life of the X-100T, which I've heard people say to be worse than the other X cameras, to actually be better.
