From what i understand, if you choose fine+raw, then you will be able to crop or resize images, and you'll have more options for in-camera editing with raw files.

I don't know if you worked this out yet, but the exposure bar on screen is different from the exposure compensation dial. If the exposure bar is at -3 in manual mode, then you need to adjust your aperture, shutter speed, or iso to get it to 0 (in the middle). The exposure compensation dial doesn't do anything in full manual mode, it only works when in aperture priority, shutter priority, or full auto is switched on. Go to the menu, then the wrench/spanner, screen set-up, and Preview Exp/Wb in Manual Mode, so turn that on. You can adjust the aperture, shutter speed, and iso from there, then what you see is what you get. Or you can turn it off, and if you are in low light or in the dark, everything you see will be brighter on screen. Or something along those lines. Its hard to explain.

I don't think you get an instant histogram preview if image display is turned on, but on the x-t20, when you view an image you've just taken in playback mode, when the full size image is on the screen, hit the Disp/Back button, and that should show you an RGB histogram for that photo. You could try moving the function of whatever is assigned to the rear command dial to the front command dial. Just go to menu, button dial settings, and then to command dial settings. You'll be able to use the front command dial for 3rd stop shutter speeds. That's all i can think of as a short fix!

Make sure the camera lens is set to A for aperture priority, also A on the shutter speed dial for shutter priority, and P should show on the screen. If it doesn't, click menu, go to the wrench/spanner, screen set-up, and scroll down to Large Indicators Mode, and switch LCD & EVF on. That should now show the P mode on screen. Without looking at the screen, and just looking at the switches and dials on the body, you'll know what mode you are in when you switch the camera on, if its set as stated above, if that makes sense.
