  1. 1:1 macro in the standard range would be nice.
  2. hello anyone have any input for which kind of adapter would be best to invest in given the follow wants (+) and want to avoids (-)? +a good macro +fast lenses (<2.8) +good character +autofocus (ideal, not a dealbreaker) +good selection of focal lengths +options wider than 30mm -excessively high cost -vignetting -zooms not required been considering the mamiya and the CZ adapters, but am open to ideas for FF systems if you can recommend some with UWAs that don't vignette.
  3. good lord that's the cost of a 55/1.7! might have to wait for the costs to come down. here's hoping they announce a new gen. Going to add those specs to camelcamel & set an alert for <2k. thanks for the input, gents.
  4. curious as to the minimum chip/ram/GPU one would need to manipulate / catalog these 200MB uncompressed raws. What's macbook do you guys recommend?
  5. got a very capable custom built desktop, using the usb-c port on camera->motherboard. 200mb files are quite cumbersome.
  6. So my workflow goes through LR for cataloging purposes, usually just connect camera to my USB-C and ctrl+c/v them into desired folders. Does anybody use a better/more automated/quicker process to bring in these behemoth files?
  7. nailed it. didn't even realize i hit +1
  8. so if i'm shooting uncompressed 16-bit RAW files it takes a significant amount of time to write to card. Got the high end UHS II cards, and this does not happen with burst shooting, only single frame shots. what setting am i missing that causes this to happen?
  9. Looking for input; there are some decent deals and might want to take advantage to expand my lenses for my 100s already own: 110/2 32-64 35-70 100-200 + TC Shooting mostly family shots, bringing my kit to capture family outings indoors and out. Tracking the 63/43 effective FLs on the two, but has anybody used both? Would the 55 (covered by two zooms right now) be redundant? Would the 80 be too similar in character to my 110 for portraiture?
  10. same. the gfx is certainly better to hold than apsc or FF bodies, but would certainly appreciate a grip.
  11. also considering the 20-35 vs the UWA primes. hows the character of the lens? can you get sunstars at small apertures? hows the AF in low light?
  12. got the little grip for the 50sii and it's better than nothing. honestly, haven't burned through a battery yet. transferring files charges it nicely, and having a spare wasabi was like $30. the mhg gfx S grip works great and has an arca swiss built in. gives a little extra room for my pinky to stabilize longer lenses.
  13. Hello. Does anybody have any experience with adapted lenses that have unique character? What does this mean? Zeiss has a unique characteristic. It's cold, contrasty, fast, and identifiable. Anybody have any experience using zeiss (or other unique) lenses with a GFX? What mount/adapter/lens do you recommend? I'm looking for a "special" normal (35-90mm equiv) lens. Edit to add examples of other systems' lenses that have that special quality: Pentax DFA 77: phenomenal rendering and effortless 3D effect Canon EF 135/2: my all time favorite portrait tele. unique rendering style and unmistakable bokeh character Zeiss 50 Makro Planar: spectacular rendering. sharp as a tack at f/8, dreamy at 2.8, great subject separation & bokeh translation
