  1. This is a screenshot from the manual and it appears your ND is in position 2, focus check, but I don't think it has anything to do with that. I think the X100 series are the only cameras with a built in ND filter so it remains a mystery.
  2. Light seals are something you'd expect to need replacing eventually anyway. I used an FM2, close relative of the FE, for over a decade with no problems at all.
  3. A large number of threads and comments here are from people who have some sort of reliability problems with their camera. I have owned about 30 cameras over the years (including 3 Fujifilm), a mixture of new and recent used, and have never had any problems, even with cameras I have used heavily over a long period of time. I therefore believe breakdowns and malfunctions are very rare but the fact that people post about them gives a misleading impression. I don't know whether there's a way to create polls (if there is and I can't find it I apologise for my stupidity!) but if not maybe people might just like to comment here if, in their experience, cameras are actually extremely reliable.
  4. Thank you. So the icon is a bit of a joke then? 😀 I'll put a card from my X-T2 in later just to see what happens. 24MP as with the Nikon, but at least the same company.
  5. I inadvertently put an SD card in my camera which already had some 24MP Nikon images on it. They can be displayed on the screen but very pixellated as if they were blown up from about 4MP, despite being larger than the X-Pro 1's own images. Secondly, they are displayed with a small icon which looks like a Christmas present with a ribbon and bow. Can anybody explain these mysterious phenomena?
  6. Is there anywhere near you which will hire or loan you lenses for a day or two? That way you can see which suits you best. There's the zoom option but if you need 2.8 minimum it's going to be big and heavy compared to a prime.
  7. I've never thought about it before but it makes sense for viewfinders to be coated just like lenses and filters, although probably not to the same standard. Coatings usually give an orange or purple tinge when viewed at an angle. I assume it's the same effect you see in soap bubbles or oil on water.
  8. If anybody uses Gorilla glue remember that you need to dampen the surfaces with a very small amount of water first to activate the glue. For this purpose a small artist's brush might be best.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if they do. However, I can't imagine how they would go about choosing which camera to base it on. Whichever they went for they would upset many many people by choosing the "wrong" camera. I would assume it's just a case of using an existing sensor without a filter, and developing firmware, but that's probably highly simplistic, but if Ricoh/Pentax can do it and think it's worthwhile then I'm sure Fujifilm can.
  10. After much dithering I bought my first Fujifilm camera, an X-T1, about 18 months ago. Supplemented it with an X-T2 about 6 months ago, and only yesterday bought an X-Pro 1. I bought the X-T1 just to dip my toe into the Fujifilm water, intending to buy a new camera if I liked it (most likely the X-T4 which was current at the time). However, I find the older cameras offer everything I need so will most likely stick with them for a while yet.
