  1. @bobj The sensor is difficult to touch because it's protected by 2 layers of glass. Otherwise, the sensor would degrade from air and moisture. The filter is also too large to fit far enough inside the shutter box to touch the glass covering the sensor.
  2. @cpX Yes, homemade camera grip. This camera is way too small for me.
  3. I bought this broken Super Ikonta camera in an antique store in Penang island, Malaysia. I refurbished the fungus-pitted lens by hand using chrome metal polish and, critically, finishing with a final dry-polishing done with carbon particles (ash from cotton or cigarette). It took about 4 hours of hand polishing for just one side of a damaged lens. In this case, only one element required refurbishing. Finally the lens shutter is 'jammed' open and the whole thing is adapted to X mount using a 100ml Brasso tin: The result is somewhat useful but I have to go very slowly and manually: The lens has a very nice character. Thanks for reading, -Cal
  4. @cpX That lens is so wide, 60% of the photo is filled by the lens itself 😂
  5. Hi! If you turn on ois, Ibis is disabled. They both cannot function together. It's possible this will change with future camera designs, but it will be very lens specific. The problem is the image circle deteriorates the closer the sensor gets to the edge.
  6. I bought a 7Artisans 7.5mm f2.8 fish-eye lens for my xt20. This lens usually produces grotesque images. Occasionally, it will offer a glimpse into a surreal world of photography unlike anything I've ever experienced. I can't put my finger on it but I'd say the lens forces you to connect small things to a larger scene, and this gives you room to PACK the image with information and context. Here's what I mean: 18mm fujifilm lens. I feel like I can't get much more creative due to the constraints of this small space. It's a problem I face throughout my travel and street photography journeys. Let's try the 7.5mm: Suddenly the space feels much larger, and this is where the interesting creative effect happens. What am I going to do with all this new space? And quite naturally, I put myself inside of it: I can't figure out why this lens is so weird and yet so lovable. It's not a Professional lens, but it may be a secret weapon for people who just want to document their life or some events. The lens itself is TINY and CHEAP. I bring it with me everywhere. I recommend it to anyone who wants to challenge themselves.
  7. That's true but high shutter speeds can be detrimental to certain types of photography. It's a stylistic choice, but I think the 'frozen' look that high shutter speeds create is a very digital looking thing and I like having the flexibility to choose a lower SS. It's definitely annoying to deal with filters though 🤣
  8. I just wanted to share with you my solution to ND filters. I often had trouble with flaring and finding the correct sizes for my manual lenses. Using this system, I only need one filter. I made this filter out of a sunglasses lens. I cut it out with scissors. Originally it was just a weird experiment but somehow it works perfectly with no flaring or quality loss No part of the lens or shutter is obstructed. Maybe certain lenses aren't compatible? All the lenses I have work normally. The filter just sit there. It can fall out, but when the lens is mounted, the filter stays in place extremely well for some reason. On the older Fujifilm cameras like xpro 1, you only have a maximum of 1/4000. I have a f1.2 lens that requires a minimum of 1/20,000 in bright sunlight.
