I bought this broken Super Ikonta camera in an antique store in Penang island, Malaysia. I refurbished the fungus-pitted lens by hand using chrome metal polish and, critically, finishing with a final dry-polishing done with carbon particles (ash from cotton or cigarette). It took about 4 hours of hand polishing for just one side of a damaged lens. In this case, only one element required refurbishing. Finally the lens shutter is 'jammed' open and the whole thing is adapted to X mount using a 100ml Brasso tin: The result is somewhat useful but I have to go very slowly and manually: The lens has a very nice character. Thanks for reading, -Cal

I am using a X-E1 camera with a vintage Canon FD 50mm F1.8 lens. When I take an image the result is always soft, even though the viewfinder or screen show a very sharp image, however as soon as I press the shutter pre-view the image is soft, and when I take the photograph, the result is soft - like it is very slightly out of focus. I have used this with focus peaking and everything looks sharp. Am I correct in assuming that images seen on the screen when focusing is via the lens? is it the lens? or my setting or my manual focusing ability. some help will be useful, TIA.

Hello there! I love using vintage lens. Manual focus lens. But when i am on the focal length option and put the values, the next options are not enable. The options i am saying is 1. the Color Shading Correction, 2. the Distortion Correction and 3. Peripheral Illumination Correction (https://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x-s10/menu_shooting/image_quality_setting/index.html#mount_adaptor_setting) I use manual focus lens since 2 years, i bought my X-S10. I didn't know that i have these three options too, but i can't enable. They would be very usefull as you can imagine. But how do i enable them?
