Yep, I had no UV or CPL filter mounted lens, it is the XF23mm F2 naked. However, I had a similar problem with B+W filter mounted on a Nikon DSLR, so apart from image quality, this is another reason I do not use UV filters anymore.

I have to support this findings, because I have the X-T2 since two weeks and today I took a backlight outdoor shot with 23mm F2, you can see the full picture and the 100% crop region, too. I think the purple halo can be considered an inevitable consequence of the lens anti-glare coating (sometimes it happened with my old Nikon DLSR), but the very bad thing is its fabric-like texture which is very artificial and geometrical (X-Trans pattern?). Anyone else has some other information about this? Thanks

I installed OS X El Capitan on a freshly formatted Early-2011 MacBook Pro. I use Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC, I must admit that the overall system is a bit faster and responsive compared to Yosemite. I noticed the biggest improvements in using the local adjustment brush and switching to/from Loupe and Grid view. I use also VSCO Film, Nik Collection and Portrait Professional and all of them are working correctly without problems.

The only concern could be the front lens cover that would be hanging when you want to keep the camera ready around your neck, but I think it could be removed during the shooting. Any opinions?

Sorry, I didn't get this... Can't the X-T10 be set in Aperture Priority with Auto-ISO and maximum shutter (i.e. 1/200 for street)?

Ok, nice to see all those comments... it seems the 27mm is going to win this "battle" for street photography! GordonRussell, I was thinking about a street setup very similar to your first one, but with X-T1 instead of X-E2 for better control, grip and EVF. The 55-200mm and the 18-135mm would be eventually in the future to complement or replace the 18-55mm, which actually turns out to be a really amazing lens, I keep reading wonderful reviews about it.

However, I'm with darknj, I still consider weight and portability more important for street photography, and for me it consists of posed/unposed pictures of strangers and situations in any urban environment, it's not the focal length that describes a photography genre.

Thanks darknj, really interesting informations! Actually I think the best option for me is to keep the 18-55 kit and then buy the 27 for street and reportage. Eventually one day I will look into the 55-200 for long distances, but it's not quite my kind of photography. I also considered replacing the 18-55 with 18-135, but as you said, it's heavier and less sharp, I don't think the weather-sealing and the longer focal are really worth for me.

Yesterday, on DPReview a "first impression" article on the X-T10 with 27mm compared to the X100T has appeared: http://www.dpreview.com/previews/fujifilm-x-t10/7 They also evaluated carrying around both camera for street photography and in the end they find them pretty similar in performance, price and weight, with the X-T10 (like the X-T1) having the advantage of interchangeable lenses for building a more complete system. They consider the X-E2, too, but until the firmware is not upgraded, it is considered inferior.

Ok, thanks for your opinions guys, I considered them and made some tests with my soon-to-be-replaced Nikon APS-C with a zoom set on 27mm and it seems good for capturing candid and posed street portraits, so I think I will surely go for that pancake!

Mmmhh ok, so, considering remaining on X-T1 or X-T10 for other interchangeable lenses, the choice practically is between 18mm and 27mm... Do you think 27 is maybe too narrow? The smaller aperture, however shouldn't be a problem in street photography, I've seen the majority of pictures are taken in the f/5.6-11 range..

Thanks for the reply, I will take a look at the video! I actually was thinking about buying a X-T1 or a X-T10 with a zoom kit lens (18-55 or 18-135) for everyday/vacation use and a fixed light lens for street photography/reportage. The X100T is really really nice, but I think I prefer the EVF only instead of OVF+EVF and I would find it a bit limiting having to often change converter while wandering around. Many suggest than 35mm FF equivalent is optimal for street photography, so I thought about the XF23, but when I saw (and tried) the XF27 I was in doubt because for 2 stop and a little focal length less, I could have a REALLY light and portable setup. I was wondering if anybody had similar doubts and what are his/her findings...
