I'm still using Canon for most of my commercial work and I have XE2 for fun.
Great and very informative article. Thanks for writing it! It will surely help me make some decisions.

    5. Yes, you can use continuous light, even sun. In fact, that's how a flash works in HSS mode - pulsing light at a very high rate during exposure. Read this very informative article:

I think Yongnuo 685 with YN622 contoller falls in your price range. But, be aware that a lot of flash power is lost in HSS mode, so maybe you'll end up needing a couple of flashes combined.
There is another solution, and that's to buy Fujifilm x100 which doesn't have these limitations, since it uses leaf shutter built in the lens.

Well, now... As a person who shoots both mirrorless and DSLR cameras (the former for street and travel and the latter for landscape and wildlife and other things), I have been using Fujifilm mirrorless for about 3 1/2 years... and my first mirrorless digital camera was nearly 20 years ago.

The mirrorless systems have improved a great deal in terms of EVF speed and AF speed, but the best DSLR systems are still more effective for certain kinds of photography, especially where camera motion and subject motion are an issue. I love my mirrorless cameras for many things, and in many cases I choose mirrorless over my DSLR system — but the opposite is also true: my DSLR system is much better for photographing, for example, birds in flight, etc.

So, even those who have engaged in the "practice, practice, practice" process will still often find that there are advantages to both/either technology.

Dook got a reaction from JRphoto in What's more Important: Taking Pictures or Photoshop?
The title of the topic is misleading. Not every use of Photoshop is so heavy like in the given examples.
Photoshop doesn't have to mean unrealistic interpretation of reality, it can be quite the contrary - a tool to correct camera or photographer mistakes (color balance, contrast, dinamic range, leveling horizons etc).
It is also a mistake to think that a straight out of camera image is more real. There is more "Photoshop" in jpg processing than in basic Raw conversion.
No picture is real word. It is photographers subjective interpretation of real word, but that's not part of this discussion.

This is the only missing feature in X-E2, though it is a great camera!
X-Pro1, X-Pro2, X-T1 and X-E1 have the possibility to set up the EVF for shooting and LCD for playback.
I'm not sure but I think that X-T10 and X100 series also can be set up in this way.
FW 4 do not added this functionality.
This missing feature is the only still needed by the X-E2.
    (Please Fuji  )

Ah!, also would be desirable a full lens line up like the 35f2 (small, light and fast) --may I suggest 23mm, 18mmII and 45/50mm

Dook got a reaction from Curiojo in Available :: Fuji X-E2 Firmware 4.00!
Another thing that happened during this first week with XE2, caused by this EVF LCD shooting reviewing issue, is that I started to use LCD for shooting more and more. Very strange for a hard core DSLR user, but with XE2 it feels so natural. The LCD is great when cleaned up from all the symbols.

I'm so dissapointed this option is not avaliable with XE2 (EVF shooting mode, LCD viewing mode).
Yukosteel, is it avaliable with Xpro2, not only XT1?
Every now and then I give a different mirrorless camera a try (first it was Olympus Pen, Sony, and now Fuji), and I always get dissapointed with the amount of experimentation and inconsistency in functionality. With a DSLR you always know what to expect. Whichever DSLR brand you choose, you don't even have to read a manual. It's so simple and straight forward.
Why, why, why no EFV shooting- LCD viewing?!?
And not only viewing, I can't change settings neither! I have to change settings loking through viewfinder. How you can possibly do that, have you tried it?
So many good things about this camera, but again the same thing - no SLR experiance possible.

    Hi to all of you!
I've just bought XE2 and I love it so far.
But, trying to find a way around the problem of Eye sensor activating EVF just a little to late, I opted for EVF only option(EVF on all the time). But, I still want to check my just taken pictures on LCD, using Playback button(I'm a DSLR user used to do this).I'm surprised that LCD is off completely with this option, I can't even review my pictures. I thought it would be off only for Live view.
Am I doing something wrong? Can this be changed it settings?
    Thank you!
