  1. Smorton: It depends on what you do (hobby vs. commercial, wild-life/sports vs. travel, etc.). Nikon FX (D810, D750) to any DX including X-T2 is a step down (just my view, others may disagree) in terms of focus accuracy, depth of field, and overall image quality (not to say Nikon raw files are much easier to work with in LR than Fuji's). The difference is quite noticeable and I have seen this first hand. Ideally, X-T2 can be an excellent addition to a D810 or D750 setup rather than substitution, of course, if money permits. Again, my personal view, not trying to upset anyone. However, FX lenses (good quality, f1.4 or f1.8 or f2.8) are much bigger/heavier and so is the FX DSLR camera and flash. I shoot family and travel and don't make money out of photography. For me, X-T2 + lenses are easy to carry and less eye-catching (than Nikon setup). The pictures are also excellent, colors are great and the move (Nikon FX DSLR to Fuji DX mirrorless) serves my purpose. After all, moments, subjects and light play a much bigger role in how memorable your picture will be than the hardware one uses. What I don't like about X-T2 (coming from a decade worth of using FX) is native ISO of 200 (which I would have liked to be at least 100), and not being able to use as fast a shutter speed for a given aperture as on FX. Lighting system is also missing with Fuji though EF-X500 is a good first step. Good luck. EDIT: By the way, if you never had a good FX camera setup, you won't have any previous bias/way to compare. Make no mistake, X-T2 is a great camera and Fuji has excellent lens lineup. You'll love the pictures you get from X-T2.
  2. I had D810 and D750. In my experience they both produce better images than X-T2 which I now own and enjoy for portability reasons.
  3. Yes. Floating elements get engaged when camera is powered on (and that noise goes away).
  4. This is an excellent idea. Or, get an X-E2/X-E2s while waiting for an X100f.
  5. Just got one today and agree 500% with everything Peter said including about the power grip.
  6. When in "AM," increment hour digit beyond 12 (noon) and it will turn "PM."
  7. B&H is not going to ship any unit before official release date (8th Sept.) despite rumors here of Fuji suggesting some pre-orders getting fulfilled as early as this week.
  8. Sept. 8 in the US as per B&H "Subject to availability." Perhaps a trickle may happen here (US) in the last week, too.
  9. Yes, AF is good and accurate. It's not really that big or heavy in my personal view (but then I also use D4s, D810); and slightly bigger size than 56mm f1.4 makes it more convenient to handle it and easier to remove from/attach to the camera body. I had both 56mm f1.2 and 90mm f2 at one point, now only 90mm. 56mm f1.2 is a great lens, I had no complaints, I just wanted to spread my focal lengths a bit more apart and hence sold it (may buy again in future, one never knows). 90mm also is WR unlike 56.
  10. Anything different from the previous sale, or the same? Thanks!
  11. Did not order grip to keep overall size small, and also I find this particular grip diminutive to X-T2's aesthetics. I might end up getting it in future because Fuji kind of made it imperative in order to exploit camera's full potential (faster/superior performance).
  12. Thanks! I no longer have X-E2/X-E2s. Using X-Pro2 now. Edited to add that someone (Post # 25 at http://www.fujix-forum.com/threads/firmware-update-on-x-e2-from-1-00-to-4-01.58570/page-2) has the same problem going from 1.0 --> 4.0 --> 4.1 route.
  13. Most had no issues updating though some, including me, had: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/2328-camera-freezes-every-time-after-fw-40-upgrade-cant-use-it/, I had frequent freezes after update and had to remove battery/re-insert, etc. and the USB port stopped working, like some reported here: http://www.fujix-forum.com/threads/x-e2-firmware-4-problem-with-usb-connection.51919/.
  14. I originally bought a new X-E2 (Adorama deal) but updating to firmware 4.0 from 1.0 created a lot of operational issues even though I followed every step Fuji suggested. Ultimately, bought an X-E2s and am very happy about it.
  15. I wish X-T2 had focus selector joy stick button slightly higher (like in X-Pro2) than the current pictures suggest as higher is more ergonomic/easier to navigate with right thumb in my personal, subjective view. The Q and joy stick could have been swapped, since quick menu button may be less frequently used than the focus selector knob. No big deal though.
  16. Are there any rumors whether X-T2 will also come in graphite silver and whether both models (black and graphite silver) will be released at the same time, or like X-T1, silver one would come late?
  17. I am not sure if the forum policies allow mentioning dealers; if not, moderator - please delete. The dealer I bought it from is Unique Photo, Fairfield, NJ.
  18. I bought mine from another authorized dealer in NJ and it arrived with the silver seal. Shouldn't be a big deal if the camera looks and indeed is new/unused. X-E2s is a recent model. It is my first ever Fuji, too. Nice size and great pictures: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1097477/469#13536595
