  1. Could someone kindly post when the Ishoot or chinese copies become available. Thanks Michael
  2. Hoschi420, I have just found a quick way to change slots in order to view the larger Jpeg fine in slot 2. Press the menu/ok in playback mode, allows slot change. Still having found a way to make the camera default to slot2 in playback using Raw/Jpeg fine on my cards Michael
  3. Santtu, Many thanks, I may just use it with 2 batts in the grip, easily charged and saves removing the grip to chsrge the camera battery or using the usb cable, which I believe takes much longer to charge the camera battery Michael

  5. Hi again Mike, A further thought. Have you tried to set it up from scratch with your home wifi powered off or better still in an area where no wifi signal exists so you simply use the fuji hotspot the camera creates. Michael
  6. Anyone with a battery grip, can you help. Can you operate the camera with two batts in the grip and none in the actual camera? Michael
  7. Hi Nick, As I said, you must set the Shutter AE setting to ON not OFF if you want to see the shutter speed when you ½ depress the shutter. Michael
  8. Just a thought Mike, you do have the wireless connection set to Resize fir Smartphone? Also when I had problems I turned off the location setting and the geo tag both to off. Dont know whether it will cause a problem but at this stage I dont want to do anything that may bring the problem back. Have another go! Michael
  9. In order to see what shutter speed you are about to use when auto iso is selected you must depress the shutter half way. This only displays the shutter speed if you have set the Shutter AE setting to ON which locks the shutter speed all the time it is depressed. Works well to see the shutter speed in the evf, but if you are shooting a bird flying or someone running where the background changes during your motorised sequence, all the exposures are the same even though the background brightness could be changing rapidly. There must be another way to display the shutter speed in auto iso without locking the exposure in this manner, any ideas? Suggestion for firmware update fuji!
  10. Hi Mike, Sorry you are still having problems. Mine has been working since we last spoke. I must say yesterday I switched off the camera before disconnecting the wireless on the iphone and it screwed everything up again. It took a few tries of my suggestion to get it going again, unreliable software. Suggest you keep trying wwhat I suggested until you get a better offer. best of luck Michael
  11. Hi Mike, I have had that oroblem fir weeks now. I think I have cravked it. Try powering off both camera and ios device, power on both again. On camera go to Setup menu, connection settings, wireless settings, general and do a Reset. After resetting, try loading the app then fire the shutter ONCE only. Press the left top corner arrow on the app to disconnect the wireless. Switch off camera then start it all up again. After the problems I have had I must stress, you MUST disconnect the wireless by the back arrow on the app before switch ing the camera off, dont ask me why, mines been working every day for 3 days now that I follow the above procedure. Good luck Michael
  12. Forgive me if you already know this info but I feel its only right to share knowledge especially with people on this forum that have helped me. If you shoot in Raw + jpeg normal you get a much lower resolution jpeg image in your playback screen than you will get if you shoot Raw + jpeg fine. If you select slot 2 in playback mode, then press the rear command dial you will see a 100% view of your focussed point. This will be a much larger image than if you select slot 1 which is the lower res image in the raw file. Try it yourself, it does work very well. The only problem I have is ensuring that slot 2 is the default slot selected. If you press and hold the playback arrow you will see the message, slot 1 or 2 selected, go for slot 2. You can also set Switch slot in the playback menu. I am finding that having selected slot 2, taking some pics, switching the camera off and on, next time I check the playback it has switched back to slot 1. If anyone knows how to keep it selected as slot 2, please let me know. Have fun Michael
  13. Hi Hari, Thanks for that excellent technical explanation. I shall not worry about using my iphone charger now, one less charger to carry when on holidays Michael
  14. Hi Bob, I really cannot believe this! After using the wireless setup for a couple of hours last night, it is showing the same fault this morning. Once it worked yesterday I tried switching off the camera, rebooting my ipad and iphone and it still continued to work ok. I really cannot work with such a useless function like this. it is totally unreliable. Unfortunately no one else can do the same thing except Camranger which is excellent but does not eork with fuji. Michael
  15. I have been checking some specs, the xt2 charger output is 8.4v at 600ma. The output from the ipads usb charger is 5v at 2.1 amps, I think I shall avoid using this device for charging. Regards Michael
  16. Hi Bob, Thanks for the info, its appreciated. Regarding the wireless problem, I believe I have cracked it. There is an option in the wireless connection settings to do a reset, this has fixed the problem, dont know why but its working now. Regards Michael
  17. On my XT2 when I vew an image in full screen playback mode, the rear command dial allows me to zoom in on the focus point which I like, but pressing the focus joystick in, brings up the Playback menu, how can I change this? Michael
  18. Hi, Having just bought the XT2 I found the wifi worked fine on my iphone v9.3.3 and my ipad mini v9.3.3, the first time I tried it. However, every time I have tried it since then it does not work. For any wifi problems please try the following. Set up Menu/ Connection settings/ wireless settings/ general settings/ Reset wireless settings Mine works fine now Michael
  19. Hi Tom, That is similar to what Damien Lovegrove recommends for the xpro2, except -1 for shadows and highlights. Have not seen any recommendations from him for the XT2 Regards Michael
  20. According to the fuji users manual you can charge these batteries from the supplied mains charger or from a usb cable plugged into your computer and the camera body itself. Can I use my Apple supplied Iphone ot Ipad charger with the same cable as recommended as above for charging from the computer? Can anyone recommend a charger for in car use? I always worry about car chargers and their effect on expensive fuji batteries. Thanks Michael
  21. Hi Tom, Shooting bracketed exposures is a convenient way around the problem. It certainly does not suit fast focus tracking where the fuji is excellent. michael
  22. Hi Bob, Thanks for an interesting response. I assume when you say turning off preview pic effect will give a more accurate histogram, the reasoning is it does not take into account film simulation and all the jpeg settings I think your point about the modern day attitude to ettr is probably correct. I am old school and habits die hard, I was always of the opinion to get it right in camera thus avoiding lengthy post processing. The time is better spent taking more images. The evf brighter image when using ettr has been illeviated somewhat by turning the evf brightness as low as possible, so I guess its time to forget old habits and learn new tricks. I have also posted on the fuji remote wireless app not functioning correctly, any ideas? Regards Michael
  23. As an ex Nikon user I have just purchased the XT2, initially it is a great camera but I do have a problem that someone may be able to help me out. On Nikon I have always used the ETTR system with Raw files making good use of the histogram. As you well know when you expose to the right, the playback image normally looks over exposed in the camera but works fine when its processed in ACR for example. I am trying to use the WYSIWYG image in the EVF to assess exposure but because of exposing to the right, the EVF image is over exposed when the Histogram says it is ETTR correctly. Is it possible to adjust the camera settings so the WYSIWYG image in the EVF looks correctly exposed when the Histogram is correctly ETTR? Because the histogram on the XT2 is so small and on a see thro style background, depending on your subject, it is very difficult to see when the highlights start to clip. Can it be made larger and clearer? This is my first post so I hope everything is ok with the forum Regards Michael
