I normally shoot with a 64 gb card in each slot, so it isn't often that I run out of space. Because of this, I need an efficient way of being able to select a different file directory to separate photos from different events. Does the XT-2 have any way of doing this?

If you take the card out into a computer. Rename the current folder as you wish. Put card back in camera, take some pictures what happens?

I think you eill find that the new pictures go correctly in a new folder as if the renamed folder had never existed.

You can't do it in-camera. Like all modern digital cameras, Fujifilm follows the DCF specification for folder and file names. In addition, Fujifilm follows the practice of creating a new folder for every 1000 photos. The only in-camera control you have is part of the filename -- that's typically used by pros to get different filenames from different cameras.

Most folks rename and organize their photos when they import them to their computer (or whatever).
