XF 18-120mm zoom problems or normal bahavior ?

Have some questions related to the correct zoom operation of a XF 18-120mm lens.
I own a powerzoom XF18-120mm (fw 1.11) lens combined with a X-S10 camera (fw 3.11).
Both have the last fw updates.

Using this lens for stills, i encountered the following issues:

1. Using the zoom/focus control ring i'm only able to zoom in one direction, depending on the settings in the menu:
a) if i set the control zoom ring to "clockwise", i'm just able to zoom in turning the control zoom ring right
b) if i set the control zoom ring to "counterclockwise", i'm just able to zoom out turning the control zoom ring left
It seems i can't zoom in & out just turning the zoom/focus control ring right and then left.
It works just in one direction.
Is this behavior by design ? It seems not when i read the user's manual.
Did you experience the same issue ?

2. Rotating the traditional zoom ring just after switching on the camera doesn't work from time to time, and it simply gets stuck (no zoom-in or out).
I found out that if i turn left the zoom/focus control ring then somehow the zoom ring unlocks and i'm then able to zoom in or out with it.
It's an annoying behavior, since i'm not able to use the zoom ring promptly when required.

Due to these 2 issues it becomes very stressfull to use this lens for stills in order to fullfill a very simple operation like zooming in & out should be.
Do you have some suggestions or similar issues ?
