Hi there,

I've been testing my new X-Pro2 this week before I put it on active duty during real assignments and today I did a few flash tests. I must say that I was disappointed. The biggest problem is that I can't get it to properly sync at 1/250th of a second with my PocketWizard TT1 and TT5s. 1/250th still gives a small line of banding at the bottom of the image (very little though). 1/200th or lower is no issue.

When I hook the X-Pro2 up to my elinchroms with a sync cable it reliably syncs at 1/250th (even 1/320th is somewhat usable).

The first thing that comes mind is an issue with the pocket wizards. I put in some fresh batteries, and that helped a little bit (i was also getting black frames/misfires). The weird thing is that it works flawlessly with my D800 at 1/250th (and much higher with hypersync...). That makes my doubt that issue lies with the pocketwizards... . So, could this be some miscommunication between the pocket wizard and the Fuji? It almost seems as if the pocket wizard receives the signal a tad late from the camera.

I was really hoping to use HyperSync with my Elinchrom lights just like I do with my Nikon D800 without issues (HyperSync with studio strobes , NOT high speed sync with speedlights).

Any similar experiences?

Certainly sounds like some kind of delay. I'm having issues with the Yongnuo 603C's not being tripped at all, so I'm wondering if it's something to do with the amount of power being sent to the hotshoe. Maybe it's lower than with other cameras, which would cause a failure to trip, as well as a delay in your PocketWizards.

Unfortunately, doesn't seem like very many people are using triggers in the studio with the X-Pro2! Or if they are, they aren't talking about it. ;)

Hi,

Exactly the same issue with X-Pro2 and PocketWizard. If I use 1/250s I get black banding at the bottom of the frame but clears if I drop to 1/125s.

I'm using a PocketWizard Iv on camera and PW Plus iii on the remote flashes.
