Fuji H-1 EV setting

I can not seem to get the EV function on the H-1 to work/display.   I have used the manual suggested settings and watched the You Tube examples, but can not get the EV icon on the LCD screen to display.    I have gone through the Button Dial Settings, Command Dial Settings, etc with with no luck.   In theory, using the rear or front dials should allow EV capability.  An EV display is visible on the top LCD screen, but it provides a random setting depending on ISO, etc.   If someone could clearly walk me through  getting EV setup process, I would be most grateful.

The condition is to have the time set to automatic ... Otherwise there should be no problem ...

I had the same problem.  It isn't intuitive.  Do this:

1.) Set ISO and Shutter Speed to "A"

2.) Click on Exposure button upper right top plate

3.) Click inward back control wheel

4.) Adjust desired Exposure Control as indicated on the top plate window, EVF or back screen display.
