The JPEG engine is just another RAW converter. Awkward interface and limited parameters, but nice quality and always available. The latter is important to me, as I often tweak my RAWs internally while I'm still on the road and have spare time (like in the car) or a break between shots. Fuji's JPEG engine is very good, I like it. Plenty of options, and it helps you understand the shooting menu (the parameters are basically identical). It's nice to try out different options.
