A good start: my first camera was a Kodak Browne as a member of the baby boom in 1947 hardly surprising. My first SLR was a Russian tank errrrr Zenit f2 50mm lens, all black does anybody remember Anschrome 400asa colour slide 35mm? Circa mid to late 60's. Part time press, wedding and my favorite industrial work kept me busy. Hardware: Mamiya C330 twin lens 120/220, 500C Blad. Olympus OM1 best lens 28mm. Big gap Nikon 70s - good next Nikon 200 no good. D3 great but got to be too big. The 200-400mm zoom was a monster. Loads of other Nikon glass 12-24 S was the best or 105macro.

I needed something smaller some time ago, I thought a Olympus would be good but then I picked up a X Pro1 instant luv. But then I bought the XT1 this was it, it's best friend is a 16-55mm f2.8 what a great zoom, sold the old glass and saving for the 50-140mm. The 55-200 is ok but room for improvement. The XPro1 has gone just too slow for my liking.

So what is my photographic subject choice at the moment all on hold - it has to happen quickly the camera must be an extention of my arm. People stuff, I do slow down for macro ditched flash now into LED ring and panel lights. I don't think I have ever taken a decent landscape photo. I enjoy interacting with models all action but no still life. In the days of b&w I liked darkroom effects now it's so much more civilised a fast PC 30" monitor and a range of editing software. For so many years we had shutter speed and aperture to work with but now we have another dimension asa (sensitivity) life is good. Pet dislike talk of video on a stills camera. Get a GoPro if you want video. I have to admit the smart phone camera is quite usefull!!!!!
