Hello dear forum members,

I have an "old" X-Pro2 and absolutely no plan to replace it with an X-Pro3.

However, some of the latest lenses really say hello to me, e.g. the 18/1.4 (most certainly), and perhaps the upcoming 33/1.4.

Do you think these newer lenses will work well on the X-Pro2 without a (highly unlikely) firmware update?

TIA - best regards, Daniel

Generally speaking, Fuji’s new lenses are backwards compatible with older bodies such as the X-Pro2. If a lens isn’t fully compatible, Fuji has a very good track record of issuing a firmware updates for either the camera, lens or both.

Thanks for replying, I really do hope it will work straight OOTB. I'll keep an eye on the firmwares when these new lenses hit the market. But I've got the feeling that the X-Pro2 is about at the end of its rope with respect to firmware updates (no more memory?...) OTTH, I'm not after the ultimate AF speed, just the hassle-free use of a recent lens (with weather sealing!)
