Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. I own a Fujifilm X-S20 and recently updated the firmware to version 3.10, which includes changes to the AF algorithm. Since the update, I’ve been having major autofocus issues with my Tamron 18-300mm lens – the camera often struggles to focus, even on static subjects. What’s strange is that the same lens works perfectly on my older X-S10, which hasn’t received any similar AF updates (X-Processor 4). So this clearly seems to be a compatibility issue introduced with the latest AF algorithm changes in X-Processor 5 cameras. I’ve confirmed this across multiple bodies: X-S20 – firmware 3.10 – autofocus issues X-T5 – firmware 4.10 – same problem X-H2 – firmware 5.10 – includes the same AF update X-H2S – firmware 7.10 – also mentions AF revision X-T50 – firmware 1.10 – same story X100VI (X-M5) – most likely shipped with the new AF system pre-installed In contrast, cameras with X-Processor 4 (like the X-S10 and X-T4) still work flawlessly with the same lens. That pretty much confirms the issue lies in the updated AF logic, not the hardware itself. My partner owns an X-H2 and is now hesitant to update the firmware because of how badly my X-S20 now performs. We’ve both contacted Tamron and Fujifilm support, but haven’t received any real solution so far. Is anyone else dealing with this? Have you found a workaround or received any response from either company? If Tamron doesn’t release a firmware update for this lens, it may become unusable on the latest Fuji bodies — which is incredibly frustrating. Thanks in advance!

X-S20: Contrast changes during focusing (AF-C & AF-S)
deos posted a topic in Fuji X-S10 / Fuji X-S20
Good morning dear Fuji community, I am new to Fuji with the X-S20 and am just stumbling across this very annoying behavior of the camera: When I press the shutter button halfway or use the "AF ON" button, the contrast of the image (viewfinder and display alike) increases until the shutter is released. In AF-C mode, this is extremely annoying, as the contrast then remains at this high contrast value for the period of focusing until the photo is taken. The final image is not affected. (With AF-S this also happens, but switches back to the set exposure as soon as focus is found, so it doesn't really bother). I have tried through various settings. However, I can't find anything to affect this behavior when focusing. Unfortunately, I can't find a topic already created for this in the forum here either. Can I set the camera so that the contrast is always identical to the image that the camera otherwise shows me, even when focusing? Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend! -
Hi everyone. I'm new here. I recently bought an X-S20. It's really a decent camera but i encounteted something odd. I linked my X-S20 with my phone via wifi using XApp. I enabled Auto Image Transfer Order so that images in X-S20 will be sent automatically to my phone whenever Xapp is activated. When the camera is switched off while there are images queuing to be sent, the indicator lamp on the camera blinks green and orange. I know it is normal since it is only completely turned off until all images are sent to the phone. But sometimes the image transfer is discontinued due to connection problem or else. The problem is, after being disconnected, the camera seems not to identify the disconnection and keeps on blinking green and orange. If i switch the camera power button to ON, the camera will not show any response (but continues blinking). The only way to fix this problem is to take the battery out and put it bavk again. Did anyone also encounter this problem? I would like to know how to fix it.

Hi, I just got my new X-S20. One of the main reasons I got it, is IBIS, as my main field of use is filming. I come from an X-T20, I loved it but the lack of IBIS, amongst other things, limited me a lot as I mainly shot handheld. I like to go light, so I like to bring the smallest lens possible, and that's why I expected to use the XC 15-45, which is small, light, has some OIS, and the lens quality is ok for filming. The unit I have is not part of the kit, I just got it second hand. I tried the camera stabilization using IBIS + OIS setting + Mode Boost, with three lenses: XC 15-45 3.5-5.6 FX 27mm 2.8 ( only IBIS ) XF 18-55mm 2.8-4 The kind of stabilization I am looking for and trying is with static shots, no camera move, almost like a picture. I am not looking for a gimball simulation. TESTS: The Stabilization with the 15-55 is fantastic, very happy with the results ( testing at 55mm ) https://youtu.be/04Wa5qcM3rU The stabilization with the 27mm is surprisingly good too, despite not being an OIS lens https://youtu.be/gNrz8QTtcOs But the stabilization with the 15-45 ( testing at 45mm in the video, but same behavior with the 15mm end and any other focal length ) is even worse than when I used it with my X-T20, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM8Gisbr0SY, it's like the body is not using IBIS with it at all. It catches my heart beats and every micro shake. https://youtu.be/nMEE2631uqA The only way I can somehow make the IBIS react and be a bit more responsive is by shaking the lens a bit, and then it becomes a bit more stable as in this test, but not to the pair with other fixed lenses I tried, it actually might be just an illusion and there's no significant improvement. https://youtu.be/GlO7VaUPXQU --------------- How come that is possible? The camera is supposed to be sold with this lens, so I expect it to work perfectly as a combination. Any idea what could be happening? The lens is updated with the latest firmware 1.12, and the camera body too 3.11. I also cleaned the lens contacts just in case. The most logical reason for this it that the lens OIS is not working properly for some reason but the camera can't tell, ( I have not another same lens to try ) if I would be getting similar results with non OIS lenses all would make sense, but that's not the case, it works great with them, much better, actually. Any idea is welcome, Thanks!
