  1. No, that is exactly what the pre-af setting does—the camera focuses constantly.
  2. I’m not sure about single shot focus, but in servo mode with Pre-AF On enabled, the camera focuses constantly, even if you have not activated the focus system with the shutter button or a back button. Does this mean you never have to activate the focusing with the back button or shutter button? And if the answer is no, you still should hit something to activate the focus, what does that do that is not already being done by the Pre-AF On setting?
  3. The New Features Guide talks about autofocus improvement, but does not go into any detail as you can see below. Does anyone know more about the AF improvements? Thanks, Ben )
  4. That’s surprising!
  5. Thank you. I’ve not had the problem; hoping to avoid it!
  6. Bob, I checked my copy and there is no play. Sorry about that! Sounds like you might have a bad copy of the lens. Ben
  7. Just curious—were you using OEM batteries or third party? Thanks, Ben
  8. Even using vintage lenses, I would think it is still possible to have your camera set for focus priority. I would double check the setting if I were you.
  9. Hold down DISP until you get the screen for assigning tasks to function buttons. Navigate to your button of choice, then press the right button on the D-pad. Go to menu page six and choose AE/AF Lock.
