Auto Exposure seems to be locked when shooting AF-C

Be careful with thumb grips

When properly installed/seated, the extended eyecup is not likely to fall off. It's actually somewhat difficult to remove. Look closely at the photo below. The Fuji extended eyecup has two small plastic tabs on the bottom edge that clip in firmly below the viewfinder. This helps keep the extended cup from wobbling around or sliding off... and also makes it seemingly more difficult to remove. To remove, pull out on the bottom of the extended eyecup far enough to release the clips, then push upwards to remove.

Nissin i40 Flash AF assist light don´t work with X-T1
Macro replied to shadowchaser's topic in Flash Photography with Fuji X
Would be nice if the i40 lamp worked with the X-T1. Under AUTOFOCUS SETTINGS, with AF ILLUMINATOR set to ON... my onboard lamp only comes on when darkness is below a certain level. It seems that the camera decides. p.25 shows... -
Perhaps Fujifilm changed the stock eyecup design on later models... added locking tabs? Does yours look like the photo above?
-
Both eyecups in the image are genuine Fujifilm parts. Extended cup came from B&H.

Extended cup is much better for blocking light. But, still not a perfect fit around the eye. Extended eyecup is not likely to fall off. DOWNLOAD NOW X-T1 Firmware 4.0 ! Share your first impression
Macro replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
Easy to see... look at it with a digital camera or smart phone camera. I left my phone camera resting again the the eyecup for more then 40 minutes. The Eye Sensor IR LED never went out. Without my phone resting close, it goes off pretty quick. -
DOWNLOAD NOW X-T1 Firmware 4.0 ! Share your first impression
Macro replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
Make sure the filename is FWUP0005.DAT and not FWUP0005(1).DAT Otherwise, try downloading again. -
Nope. Not all RAW converters work with DNG. Hard drives are cheap.

Nissin i40 Flash AF assist light don´t work with X-T1
Macro replied to shadowchaser's topic in Flash Photography with Fuji X
Unfortunately, AF assist light doesn't work with Fujifilm. The i40 manual says it depends on the camera model. -
Also... AF-L and AE-L functions can swapped. I use manual focus with "back-button" focus on the AE-L button. (For me, the AF-L button is more ackward to reach)
-
Version number is "4.00" in the file beginning at hex address 00000204. Same location as previous X-T1 FW updates.
-
You can't determine the FW version by the filename. X-T1 firmware files are named "FWUP0005.DAT".

I just want to say Thank you to Fuji. how about you?

Started with a Canon A-1 when it first came out back in the late 70's. Ended with a 5D2 and some nice L lenses. Last year I sold everything Canon except for my 2.5mm wired remote which I use with an L-plate on my X-T1. Even though I spent hours doing side-by-side comparisons looking for a reason to keep Canon... it didn't work. More than a year later, not one regret. Timing of the X-T1 introduction was the only shove I needed for switching to Fujifilm. Photography is finally fun and exciting again! -

I use OP/TECH straps. I've been using both quick-release and fixed type straps for many years without a failure. Straps are always comfortable... just enough padding with non-slip feature to keep it where you put it. Many kinds of applications, widths, sizes, padding, connection types. Neck, shoulder, wrist, and tripod straps that work with any type of gear. They offer so many different styles and sizes... it can be difficult deciding which one to buy! First... highlight the text by double-clicking, then click the "Link" icon... ...then enter the URL in the dialog box, click OK.

Focus mash...? Please explain.

What was actually holding the hot-shoe plate on the camera?
