  1. There are lens review websites that take lots of measurements and I find these a useful resource for comparing lenses in a more objective way... two I often consult are http://www.photozone.de/fuji_x http://www.lenstip.com/index.html?test=obiektywu&producent=66&model=&typ=0&moc=0&przetest=1&szukaj=Search They typically measure sharpness, vignetting, distortion and chromatic aberration, although I also appreciate lenstip's illustration of coma in the corners. I recently tried to compare the 10-24 with the 14 and also with the 18-55. Each lens has pros and cons but I think the 10-24 at 14 compares well with the prime at f/4, although my important criteria might not be the same as someone elses...
  2. There is £75 cashback on the lens at the moment in the UK... https://fuji-offers.com/uk/en/pages/cashback-0615/qualifying_products
  3. There's a lot the X-E2 hasn't got... new AF modes and tracking. electronic shutter. lower JPEG compression. and more I don't think we'll get all that... if we did then the X-E3 would have to be in the far future and/or have some new hardware (like the sensor, and a tilting screen!). We have to have a reason to upgrade one day.
  4. I just checked out the lens tests on photozone... it seems like At 14mm, the 10-24 compares well with the prime. The 14mm seems to have a sharper centre and slightly softer corners than the zoom at f/4. At 18mm and 24mm the 18-55 seems better than the 10-24 (better corners but softer centre). I think for me it's a versatility question... other lenses out perform the 10-24 in sharpness and aperture at some focal lengths and other lenses are smaller, lighter and cheaper. But if you're out somewhere with one lens then I think the zoom is a good one to have. Just me talking myself into it really...
  5. They probably think we're nostalgic for SLRs having sold all our gear Anyway, credit to the x-t10, it is quite narrow and probably couldn't be if the viewfinder was on the corner. I suppose the hump allows the flash to be above the evf. And new firmware still won't make the x-e2's screen tilt...
  6. Well we can turn the question around... why is it wasting one third of my memory card? :/ I didn't know about the X30 and the X100T having larger JPEGs too... I couldn't find any discussion about it in some quick searches.
  7. If you look in the specs on Fujifilm.eu it says that the X-T1 gets 600 JPEGs in 4Gb and the X-T10 gets 406 JPEGs in 4Gb. http://www.fujifilm.eu/uk/products/digital-cameras/interchangeable-lens-cameras/model/x-t10/specifications/ http://www.fujifilm.eu/uk/products/digital-cameras/interchangeable-lens-cameras/model/x-t1/specifications/ (at the bottom of each page) So... are they noticably better quality then? Seems like a good improvement for JPEG shooters...
  8. That's right... Here you can see the difference http://j.mp/1R07Xil#.dpuf
  9. It's only three months older than the X-T1... On the other hand, Fuji seem to offer a trade in bonus for old models when buying a X-T10; the X-E2 is in the scheme but the X-T1 is not... so maybe that's a clue. http://fuji-promo-tradein.co.uk/tradeintradeup.html Mark
