Hi, Steve here from New Zealand. I've had an X-T1 for about 8 months. I use the Fuji 23 mm and 56 mm, as well as a Samyang 12 mm. I do have a 55-230 (which i picked up for pennies) and the standard 18-55 (which hasn't been on the camera since I got the primes).

I love astro at the moment - https://www.flickr.com/photos/31144837@N06/ - come over and say Hi.

I'm heading off on a 6 week jaunt to Japan - which I love! (Hiroshima, Kyoto and Tokyo), UK, Belgium, Italy (Amalfi and Rome) and Greece (Santorini and Athens). If you have any tips or advise, I'd be pleased to hear from you.

One query that bought me to this site is I get colour aberration on my 23 mm when I use a polarising filter. I guess the obvious answer will be to get the most expensive polarising filter ever produced. I haven't tried to hard to get rid of it in Lightroom yet. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who also gets this or has found a way around it.

Looking forward to making some new photo friends. Pop over and say Hi.

Steve

Hi, and welcome to the forum

Belgium: visit Bruges, wonderful city. Drink a tripel karmeliet (my favorite Belgium beer). The train station in Antwerpen is awesome!

Rome: best city in the world. Have dinner at Trastevere, see the

Sixtine Chapel (skip hours of queue and make your ticket online in advance here: http://biglietteriamusei.vatican.va/musei/tickets/do?action=booking&codiceTipoVisita=26&step=2 . You better have a wide angle lens with you and enjoy the "dolce vita".

Greece / Santorini: Loved it. For sure one of Greece's best islands Looking forward to see you photos (which you'll hopefully share on the forum ;) )

enjoy your travel

p.s: new zeland is on my to-do list. any tips?

Thank you Patrick for the warm welcome and the tips - can't wait to get on the road and get the camera out. I will definitely bare in mind your recommendations.

New Zealand is a great place for Landscapes and Astro photography - the south Island is a must! I'm in Auckland, but am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of the country with my work. I've made it my mission to make sure the camera comes with me from now on.

Don't forget to get in touch if you head this way.

Thanks.

I normally travel without any kind of guide book, since I like to discover a country on location. So I won't miss to contact you, the day I'll be in New Zeland. I'll offer you a beer (or more), and you tell me where I can take amazing landscape pictures... deal :) .

Not necessarily cured by an excess of currency. While film offered no problems with filters, it had the virtue of being non-reflective. Sensors are quite reflective and it is possible to set up feedback reflections between the sensor and the filter since they are perfectly parallel. Similar things can happen with lenses designed for film if the rear lens element is flat. I have a 90mm f/2.0 Canon Serenar with a flat rear element and the results are nearly psychedelic!
