thumb or body grip alone or together

I have a new xt10 and am considering some sort of grip enhancement. My problem seems to be that when gripping the camera, mainly one handed, my thumb pad hits and sets off the selector function buttons interfering with my photo taking etc. In order to keep pressure on the thumb rest, my hand is forced into a position that causes this. Would a thumb or body "gripper"by itself remedy this or would both together be needed? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks for your input re-this .

I went with both, a soft release button and a solid strap.

 

 

 

 

The grip is the official Fuji one, a tad expensive for what it is, but worth it. The thumb grip and button are by Lensmate.

I use one of those 10$ ebay specials, Chinese-made, Arca-compatible L-brackets with grip that it is absolutely perfect.

 

I tried the thumb grip, but I didn't like the fact that it made using the dials more difficult.
