A few Weeks ago I used my Fuji XT-20 for a music performance (Event 1). Upon hitting the 4k 10 min record limit, the camera automatically rolled again. It was frame to frame, so in post the two videos back to back looked continuous. This is awesome!

However, yesterday I left the same camera rolling for a comedy performance (Event 2). When I checked on the camera, it had not started a new roll after hitting 10 min limit.

Why would this work sometimes but not others? It's quite frustrating to set it up and not know whether or not I will have to check on it to make sure it's still recording.

On both events a dummy battery was used. No camera settings were changed between uses. The only difference between the two situations were as follows...

Event 1:

  • SD card was Sandisk 64GB, V30, 150MB per sec, UHS 3
  • Lens was a TV broadcast lens attached with B4 to X mount Adaptor.

Event 2:

  • SD card was Sandisk 128GB, V30, 190MB per sec, UHS 3
  • Lens was a Kamlan 50mm f/1.1 manual focus X mount

Please let me know if anyone knows the answer :)
