Upgrading from X-E1 to a new X-E4 or a used X-Pro2. Looking for opinions

I recently got a used X-E1 as a travel camera and have been enjoying it quite a bit. It has suited my desire not to do very much editing outside of the camera.

I have been a bit frustrated with the viewfinder's performance, especially in bright settings, and I find it difficult to compose and use the manual focus.

I'm debating upgrading to a new X-E4 or a used X-Pro2. If I want to shoot more out of the viewfinder with manual focus, would the X-E4 be a big step up from the X-E1? And is there anything I should consider in getting the X-Pro2 as a travel camera?
