EF to X mount with electronic shutter control

Came across this recently in a random search -> EF-X mount adapter with electronic aperture control via USB power/battery

Apparently released in May 2014 but there is precious little info out there. Anyone have this adapter/want to comment on whether this is worth looking into? -

 

Presumably there is a benefit beyond the current adapters external aperture blades?

Meh. External power supply makes it useless outside studio/tripod environment.
