Hello,

inhave recently got into macro photography with flash and I am using a Godoy 860ii with a diffuser. I am in TTL/HSS mode on the flash.

I often want to let a bit more ambient light in so I use the exposure compensation on the body at +1 for example and the flash compensation at -1... but I see no difference between this shot and the original at 0/0.

Does anyone know how it works? Thanks.

The units of measure in both camera exposure and flash exposure are stops of light. In a manual mode, the camera and flash are watching the exposure independently, but since you are in TTL mode, the camera knows what the flash is doing. Hence, +1 in the body plus -1 in the flash = 0.

I think if you take the flash out of TTL mode, you will achieve the compensations you are looking for.
