  1. Hi, I'm excited to join this forum! I'm a beginner photographer passionate about capturing the beauty of natural landscapes. I'm particularly drawn to photographing serene scenes like riverbanks, sunsets, and mountains, focusing on capturing the natural environment without people or animals. I'm eager to learn and grow as a landscape photographer, and I hope this forum will be a valuable resource for me. To kick things off, I'd love to hear from all of you! What are your favorite natural landscapes to photograph, and why? Do you have specific tips or techniques for capturing captivating images when people and animals are absent? What gear and settings do you find most effective for photographing these scenes? I'm excited to share my photography journey, learn from your experiences, and contribute to this vibrant community. Thanks
  2. Hey folks, My name is Casper, a photographer in the East Bay of San Francisco. Recently I switched over from m4/3 to the Fuji X system with a new X-Pro2 purchase (along with a few shiny lenses). It's been a long time coming, previously considering the X-Pro1 back in 2012, but instead opting for the Olympus E-M5 at the time. Definitely not disappointed in my original decision, but that longing seemed to stay with me. Apparently the switch was inevitable, it only took four years to come to terms with it. I've shot urban life documentary photography (long way of describing Street Photography) for half a decade, in Chicago and San Francisco. I also teach workshops and shoot events, predominantly in a documentary style, but now and then fine art, cityscapes and whatever else strikes my fancy will find its way into my various photo streams. All the important online presences I have, can be found through my website www.recasper.com. Additionally (as if 24 hours weren't already too few for a planetary rotation) I produce and host StreetPX, a photography podcast. It's a bi-weekly broadcast, dedicated to showcasing fellow street photographers, documentary photographers and photojournalists from around the world. Basically, up to two hours of introspective conversation (coffee and a chat, so to speak)... diving into backgrounds, inspirations, projects and any random topic that may come up along the way. I always enjoy the opportunity to support the artist community. In this, we decided to put one in a chair every other week, turn on a mic and hit record. If interested, we can be found at www.streetpx.com or on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher and pretty much any other podcatcher app of choice. Anyway, I just thought I'd join in and say hi. Looking forward to reading and participating. Cheers
  3. Hello, and greets from snowy Finland. Just call me Kumpu, as most of the people who know me. Hobbyist photographer, mainly shooting nowadays nature (flowers especially) and portraits. Going to be fuji shooter (again) as I pre-ordered my second Fuji, this time it's x-pro2. .Kumpu
  4. Hi, I read Fuji Rumors pretty much every day, and I found it good to join the community ! I first started to shoot with vintage cameras like the Pentax K1000. Later, I fell in love with the touch and feeling of Fujifilm X-Series, that I use now almost exclusively. I know have a X-M1, and recently bought a X-T10. My lenses are : XC 16-55 OIS, XF27mm f2.8 (really compact with the X-M1), XF35mm f1.4 (the one like the most). I also have an adapter that allows me to mount my pentax lenses on the fuji (just received that last week, so I still have to learn how to take the best of this configuration).
  5. Hi, I've been a lon-term hobbiest in the Canon world since 2003. I went from a Canon G2, Rebel XSI and then finally to EOS50d. I wanted to go full frame but really did not see the right Canon camera for me but the Nikon D750 was close. After watching Fuji for the last 2 years I decided to jump for something different. I'm not fond of equipment changes. I'm more a technique kind of guy. I just started reading the forums in December and decided i should say hi. I like to think of myself as a story teller. So my goal this year is to continue to use my camera to share my stories and experience. Play it forward in the forms. You can find some of my stuff here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/randy_ramkissoon P.S. Soon as I unlock my yahoo account i will post more photos.
  6. Hi, my name's Al. My previous photography experience has mostly been vintage Canons and Leica M6. Street photography has been my most recent interest, so I thought I'd try the Fuji X-T30 due to it's inconspicuous nature. Nothing like getting a modern day camera to make you realize how old you are :-). Currently ruminating over whether to use the 16mm 2.8 or 23mm 2 as a prime lens.
