sometimes the contacts are dirty . It there isn't communication set with che camera body, the flash won't fire.
Try cleaning the contacts brushing them on a cloth, then push the flash firmly in the hot shoe. It might be easy to fix :-)
A few months ago I asked the sales rep at my local camera store if I could use other lenses on my Fuji and he practically laughed at me, saying "Fuji is known for their glass, why would you put any other lens on your camera." Since then, I have shyed away from this topic, but now I'd like to hear what others have to say. Is it a 'sin' to put a non-fuji lens on our cameras?
It is not called X System but only for the new cameras, ( all all the others out there with this FX bayonet ) it covers all the fuji cameras with interchangeable lenses from the cheapest X-A1 to the newest X-T10.
Whats not “ powerful” in you camera?
The only practical difference between your camera and the X-T10 or X-T1 is the autofocus software ( which for all we know will be upgraded by Xmas) and a better EVF then there is this classic chrome thing which you can replicate anyway in software.
The best thing that you can upgrade you camera with is waiting for Xmas and see what the Fuji-Santa will bring.
To me, although I do own a X-T1 which made it possible while they are not “ yet” for you, the firmware upgrades were only minor although welcome but i was enjoying even my X-E1 when I had it ( even less “ powerful” than yours) and could still use it now and be happy if I had one.
Don’t let this new form of the Freudian “ penis envy “ get to you! There is nothing not “ powerful” about your camera! You have all the power you need and I suspect even more than most of us can handle.
If on the other hand, you might feel at such a loss of “ power”... whatever that might be... that you cannot bear this....then probably your best bet will be the X-T10 which, at the moment, sells for the same price as the X-E2 still is sold in the shops (at least in my neck of the woods that is) if they would sell them, which they are not, because all the buyers are not buying the “ old” model now.
But you will be offered little by the shop or by other people ( see the X-E2’s for sale in the marketplace here on the forum) and you will lose money, while the best way not to lose money is not to spend it.
