From Courmayeur start two valleys which are one the continuation of the other.
To the south-west the Val Veny (wilder, famous for the Brenva and Miage glaciers); to the north-east the Val Ferret (more touristy and flat but no less beautiful).
Both border the Mont Blanc chain on the Italian side.
