A camera is a tool, and a software is a tool too.
You can use PP moderatly, or profusely. In most of the medias, 99% of the readers are only attracted by spectacular photographs, flashy renderings and perfect skins. Maybe people think the real life is boring and they want to dream. Or someone could call it "Aesthetics for the masses".
So, in the digital era, if the photographer wants to meet this expectation, a shot is only the first step of the digital production chain. In my case, I use RAW+Lightroom. Sometimes I play with effects, sometimes I deal with simplicity. Depends on my feeling. -

Ended up getting rid of two zooms.... the 10-24 and 18-55. First I soaked em in my bath tub to make sure they were clean, then I baseball batted the 10-24 through my neighbors front window (F**king line drive!) and the 18-55 went off the roof and landed right on my wife's car!

Looking to sacrifice one lens and toss it off my roof.... Which do I choose? 10-24mm, 16mm, 35mm f/2, 56mm 18-55mm or 55-200mm

Well, math says it's 18-55, but it would be too silly.... So, if it's a matter of life and death I'd choose between 10-24 and 16.

The 56mm, but before you throw it from your roof, please let me know your address.
