  1. Hello all, I'm new to this forum and I am reaching out in hope that someone here can help. I have shot with my X pro2 for several years now and I have never encountered this problem before. On a ten-day travel shoot last month I lost one day's images, 78 files. They show up in the card reader as black rectangles with no images at all. But curiously I can see some of the metadata i.e. time the file was created and when last viewed. These were files from the first date of the shoot. All the several hundred other images from the trip are there and I have been able to load them into my computer without any problem. I was using a new SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 GB card. (I never reuse cards). I've tried the usual recovery tools, like the software SanDisk recommends and Disk Drill, to no avail. I took the card to a reputable data recovery lab here in Ottawa, and they had no better luck. Their techs said they have never seen this problem before and they thought it might be the controller on the card, which is encrypted by SanDisk. The not terribly supportive SanDisk support people said it had to be a camera problem and they offered to send me a new card. They didn't even want to examine the card. Now, I have to emphasize my X pro 2 has been extremely reliable over the years. This has never happened before. And the fact the card did its job on days 2,3 etc of the shoot is an enigma. Any thoughts, anyone? Thanks, Jeff in Ottawa
