  1. This is tempting me to consider upgrading to the X-t1. It's so cheap but too bad it's only for the 18-55mm lens. It'd be better to shoot something faster in darker underwater conditions.
  2. So my underwater casing was fine when I dived in Monterey 2 weeks ago. After descending 60ft this morning diving in Maui I tried to turn on my x-e2 + 23mm but the ewa marine casing had a bit of water sloshing around in it. Anyone have any idea or experience with cameras/lens and salt water damage? My 23mm was pure magic... anyone know if fuji has the can bring it back to life or is it time to call time of death?
  3. My fellow photographers... Please share a moment of silence with me as I mourn the wreckage of my x-e2. The underwater casing was fine when I dived in Monterey 2 weeks ago. After descending 60ft this morning diving in Maui I tried to turn on my camera to no avail. The ewa marine casing had a bit of water sloshing around in it. You were my rock and a trooper having survived the abuse of my 7 month journey across south east Asia and Europe. You captured the magic at many a weddings. You were my trusty companion and you will be missed sorely. It was a risk I was willing to take but I won't be taking the same risk again. It's just not worth it. Spend a few hundred on a gopro and an underwater casing. its a much safer solution. Does anyone know if there is any chance can x-e2 + 23mm can be salvaged? If i could at least salvage my 23mm I won't "jump ship" to full frame milc. har har....
  4. That's true... in tropical clear waters light and visibility is less of problem. Ultimately I decided to keep my underwater casing based on the waterproof abilities. I feel a lot safer document events that can result in sand/dust/powder/liquids/beer/tubing/kayaking catastrophes.
  5. I used the Ewa Marine DB bag on my X-e2. The casing is almost exactly fitting on my X-e2 with little extra so I bet the X-t1 will also fit. The only problem is that while its rated for 20 meters = 60 ft, around 45+ ft or so the pressure starts to compress the water casing to the point that buttons are either continuously pressed so that the camera may be unusable. After two dives with if I feel comfortable diving with it again that it won't leak. However without a hard casing the underwater pressure exerted on your camera may render it unusable until you come up a few feet to release the underwater pressure on the buttons. That being said I am actually flying out tomorrow to hawaii and will be diving so I'll let you know how it goes and maybe i'll put up some photos on here.
