  1. Your advice on this thread is most informative Milandro but it's not negligence. The claim is rather that the product was not fit for purpose on arrival [given their claim of weather resistance] (a phrase I would recommend anyone communicating with Fujifilm use). Milandro is right to say your rights will vary depending on the country you purchased your camera in. In Australia, the camera would have to be repaired regardless of whether it was within the warranty because consumers have rights under the Australian Consumer Law (a statutory instrument). As a law school alumni, I suspect the situation is the same in the UK and Canada but Continental Europe and the USA could be radically different.
  2. Just realised the post version is different in that highlights are globally +5. Still, the colour shift and detail rendered in the bricks and guttering in indisputable. And this is only at 1/4th of the original resolution (Can't go back and export at 100% unfortunately).
  3. Hi Maurice, After I downloaded the LR6 update, I exported the last file I exported before the update (at identical export sharpening and resolution) and it's colour and detail did change. The file was converted to DNG using an old version of Adobe Camera Raw. Therefore I'm unsure whether your methodology will yield the evidence of change you are looking for. First is pre. Second is post. Both at 1024 , quality 100 and sharpen for screen standard.
  4. Some of the points made by the OP trouble me also. I have intended to replace my 18mm with 16mm since it appeared on the roadmap. I already have the 18mm. It and the 35mm are my most used lenses (I have the 18, 27, 35 & 56). While the 18mm's corner sharpness is inadequate for landscape/architecture and it's distortion is inadequate for architecture, one of the things I like about the xf18 is f/2 provides enough light to document debauchery at parties or out on the town (and the lens is small and unobtrusive enough for this purpose). Now the specs of the 16mm are out, I wonder whether I would carry the 16mm in the same situations as I do the 18mm. If I did, I would gain a faster auto focus, a handy focus clutch and the ability to crop from 16 to 18mm at f/2-2.8 with no perceivable difference in sharpness given the much higher resolution of the lens. Alternatively, I buy the 14mm and keep the 18mm. However, I don't think I would ever carry more than one wide angle prime when far away from home.
  5. I agree with the OP; any autofocus improvements would be welcome. The top three improvements I would like to see are; (1) Allow the spot meter to be coupled to the AF point (X-T1 got this update last year). I challenge anyone to explain to me why they would use spot metering and want the centre to be arbitrarily exposed properly rather than their focus point. (2) Option to make the macro function redundant. If someone at Fuji thinks "but we wrote macro on that button", never fear! I will gladly use a black pen to remove that writing from my X-E2. (3) Option for the command dial to directly control autofocus point (X-T1 got this last year). I really think the combination of these three updates would make my camera better for shooting people than a 16% improvement in AF-C mode.
