  1. Hi kneops, it's already there!!! in the menu, and also there is a shortcut long pressing the focus lever, it can allow you to choose between ON (akas always on, the default), Push to unlock, an Locked. Great implementation and usability here IMO by fuji

    • option to lock the autofocus point joy stick/button on the back (I always touch that stupid button by mistake)
  2. Going colour crazy at Railay Beach after sunset 9 days ago....

    X-T1, Samyang 12mm f/2.0

Edit: BTW if someone knows the model let me know... I was shooting the sunset, didn't have my portrait lenses, and she arrived with another photographer and stood in front of my composition (had the tripod installed and all), so I continued shooting, she was sort of hidden behind the boat, but on one moment the waves made the left boat turn and I had the shot ;)... and as fast as they appeared, they were gone so couldn't ask for their email to send them the pic, and on the camera LCD she was mostly on silhouette so they wouldn't be so thrilled neither if I showed them the shot then.

  3. My Kaisen love dream:

    • Bring back a "Discreet mode option" from X-T1 (awfully named Silent mode first then Flash and Sound On/Off)
Which would enable with one toggle, being able to
      • turn all sounds and beeps off,
      • change shutter to electronic and
      • disable focusing light and flash.
I really miss this for events on churches and other venues, but not all the day, just 1-2 hours of the event... now I have to change 4-5 settings. And why remove it? Because the guy who named it messed it up big time? Change the name to "Discreet mode" which is easy to understand, it's a mode and will not get confused with other settings. Can add an icon on screen  and/or even can set it with a AE-L long press or other Fn if don't want to clutter the menus, like the lock from from long pressing Menu/OK.

The name generated confusion, not the feature per se, the feature is awesome and is a great advantage over a DSLR, so take advantage of it!… that's why Fuji smartly included it on the first place. So don't remove it because the naming was bad… just change the name! but to a good one and PLEASE not using the same name for other setting "flash on/off  , noise, electronic, etc" use a new word "Discreet, Stealth  , etc". . If in doubt why not give kaisen some love and run a poll for it's reinstatement and name?.
    • Being able to control ISO with command dial wheels... an equivalent to T mode for shutter speeds, but ISO.
Set the L or H to it, that would be very appealing to every on switching from DSLR and I think I read the GFX will have the option, so will be consistent with that.

    • Being able to reverse direction of front/rear command dials to change shutter speed and ISO as to match Canon/Nikon/user preferred direction.
Again making easier to adjust for DSLR previous or simultaneous users. There is the option of change the direction of focus ring, why not the wheel command dials too?

    • +1 for  Increase the maximum allowed time selection in T mode, not maxing out at 30 seconds. (mentioned by Isaac)

    • +1 highlight warning.

    Cheers!

  4. Hi Dani,

Have you posted somewhere portraits done with the 55-200?, I've been considering it for some time now since I want to avoid the 50-140 for its cost.

I usually use the 56 f/1.2 for 99% of my portraits... the 35 f/1.4 I don't use it that much, some times for full body and group shots. I'm thinking the 55-200 could complement my 56mm when I want more background separation and compression

    Cheers!

...The other one I really like is the XF55-200. I only got it recently, and am already considering doing most of my Portrait work with it... but when the light is right, the XF55-200 can really shine...

  5. Here are the ranges for the various shutter modes in the T setting:

    ES - 1" to 1/32000

    MS - 30" to 1/4000

    ES+MS - 30" to 1/32000

AE bracketing still +/- 1 EV  . Someone at Fuji must hate HDR...

    Cheers!

    Rolly

Thanks Rolly!!!!!!, really great news for me. I like to shoot manual, and the top dial is not as handy as use the front/thumb command dial to change settings without taking the eyes off the viewfinder, even more critical when using the battery grip.

and yeah, unbelievable the bracketing castration on Fuji... similar to not using face detection AF when using the back button focus on first firmwares.
