  1. Is Nissin i40 compatible with X-E3 ? I bought mine with the X-E2s and want to upgrade to X-E3 but wonder if the flash will fully work (including TTL) with the new camera. I cannot find anything on the Nissin website about compatibility.
  2. Which ND filter for flash lit portraits in sunlight with XE2 (1/180 max sync) ? Variable or not? How many stops? Which brand?
  3. What TTL transmitters are there for Nissin i40 flash? What manual transmitters? Do you need a receiver too?
  4. I have the 14mm f2.8, 23mm f2 and 18-55mm f2.8-4 and am looking for a lens longer than 23mm for pictures of family the members. The 23mm is great but I want another lens with a bit more compression. 56mm and 50-140mm are too expensive and too big. 60mm is too slow. I was thinking 35mm but hesitate if it's not too close to 23mm. Then there's 50mm f2 but I haven't used a 75mm equivalent before. Generally the longer the lens, the less mobile I am and the more specialized and less flexible the lens becomes. So it's either 35mm at the risk being redundant, or 50mm at the risk of being less usable. What do people use for photographing family members (usually indoors) ?
  5. How to make sure the histogram is constantly visible in the viewfinder? In my xe2s the histogram shows only briefly during focus, less than a second, too short to be useful. It shows during playback but I need it to stay put during exposure.
  6. Which lens fits better inbetween the 14mm and 35mm ? 14-18-35 or 14-23-35 Anyone with proper experience using these lenses?
  7. Hi, I'm looking for a (small) companion lens to the 35mm f1.4. I was first thinking the 18mm f2 but it feels kinda 'snapshoty'. Thus I am looking after something else. The 23mm f1.4 being too large, what about the 23mm f2? Who has exchanged his 18mm f2 for a 23mm f2 ? Who is using both 23mm f2 + 35mm f1.4 ? What subjects are you shooting these with?
  8. Hi, I'm using the XE2s with two sets of lenses. Either 14mm + 18-55mm for outdoor use. Or 18mm f2 + 35mm f1.4 for indoor use. Anyone use the same? Indoors it's sometimes easier to just use the 18-55mm zoom with a nissin i40 flash rather than juggle with primes. The zoom + flash combo foregoes the compact approach and feels like a dslr, but the combo works faster and is more flexible. Two other issues I have with these sets is a) the zoom is rather big for such a small body and the 18mm f2 images result in kinda snapshots. So, anyone have suggestions where to go from there? Mainly trying to simplify, not adding extra stuff. I was thinking of trading the 18 for a 23 but 23/35 is rather close. Or trade the 18/35 combo for 23 f2 + 50 f2.
  9. I'm thinking of getting an xt1 with these lenses: 14mm f2.8 18mm f2 35mm f1.4 I've read the 10-24mm is supposed to be more versatile than 14, the 18 wouldn't be better than 18-55 and the 35 f2 should be sharper than 35 f1.4. I'm not sure to what extent this is all true but I happen to like the 14-18-35mm distribution. Am I missing something? I haven't tried Fuji yet but from my dslr experience, 18 & 35 (28 & 50mm eq.) are a perfect pair and 14mm follows suit. I think 14 is plenty wide, and the aperture allows for some very close photojournalism. Anyone using the same lens set?
