  1. So I've experimented around to try and figure out what's going on, and it's definitely a sync issue. I set up the XT3 hotshoe miniflash to trigger the external flash, and everything works fine (except for the front light which kind of messes up my lighting setup.) So if anyone has tips on syncing with the XT3, please share.
  2. I had already used an external flash for portraits with my xpro 2 and it worked fine, but I tried yesteday with the xt3 and it was an utter failure. Essentially, if I understand correctly what is happening, the flash happens too early or too late, and the scene is essentially unlit. I tried changing the settings in the camera, but to no avail. I have no idea what's going on, and if anyone more enlightened than me on external lighting can help I'd be immensely grateful.
  3. Interesting thread. I shot a concert in a jazz club (low light and then some) with the xpro2 and the 35 f2 as well as the 56 1.2 The 35 f2 performed superbly, certainly better than anything I ever had with a Canon. Most shots were sharp, and I didn't feel too much lag. The 56 f1.2 was real bad. It would hunt forever, and many shots if not most ended up slightly to massively out of focus. Note that with the 56 this has not only been happening in low light for me. I do hope that firmware fixes will solve that.
  4. I hope they do. There seem to be workarounds, but the inconsistency is really bothering.
  5. I'm puzzled by your question about Fuji. Is there a way I can ask Fuji directly ? I need to do more extensive testing, but yes, I think it's always back-focus (focus way behind the subject).
  6. Hi all, I've had the xpro-2 for about a month now and I like it a lot, but lately I've managed to put my finger on something that had been nagging me for a while. When shooting the 56mm 1.2 open (not necessarily wide open), autofocus is systematically off. And not a little off, massively so. I was shooting a studio session last week, so I switched off to manual, and used the AFL button hoping that it would bring the focus closer. And lo and behold, it didn't bring it closer, it nailed it perfectly. So now I'm puzzled. I've heard of lenses that have backfocus, but why would the AF-L nail it and the shutter button mess it up ? Does anyone have any idea ? Obviously the solution is to decouple shutter and focus and only use the AF-L, but I've never used my cameras that way, and when doing street photo it doesn't strike me as the fastest way to get the shot. It only happens on that lens as well, the 35mm f/2 works just fine.
