  1. So, the new smart adapters from Fringer n another comoany have been released n it's being sold like a hot cake. The only reason I can think of buying it, if it becomes available, is so that I can use cheaper good quality lens from Canon which aren't available in Fuji Lineup. FYI I don't have any previous Canon lens. Now the problems I'm seeing are, Fuji primes are top notch so I don't feel the need for investing in any other brand primes. But the zooms....well, although they aren't bad by any means, the cheaper ones have variable apertures which is quite a pain for me being a wedding photographer and the pro ones have individual issues. To be precise, the problems that bothering me are, 16-55 f2.8 has standard 24-70 focal length but f2.8 produces a full frame f4ish background blur which is not very usable for me at 55 end. Again, being a wedding photographer, background blur is important to me. And 50-140 f2.8 has probably the most notorious background blur as a portrait lens. Now, I have a XF 56mm f1.2 n I'm quite happy with it. But for pro use, I ain't satisfied with my 18-55 n am looking for a full frame 24-70 f2.8 equivalent, which Fuji doesn't have actually due to that aperture issue I mentioned earlier. Only possible solution atm in market (in light of newly released Fringer n Smartee adapters) is Sigma 18-35 f1.8 lens. Although it has almost 24-50 full frame focal length, but I can easily sacrifice the focal length gap for the full frame equivalent f2.8 aperture. So I was really excited about it. Then I found the inconsistent focus issue problem with the lens with canon cameras. So if anyone has a first hand experience with this lens used on Fuji bodies, please let me know your experience. Also one thing I need to know from you guys, will mirrorless cameras like Fuji's need lens calibration? If so, there's again another problem because mostly I use 2 bodies n if a single camera calibration for the lens doesn't work on another body, it'll b very cumbersome for me. Now I am really heart broken. I need a good 24-70 lens. But as Sigma is there, it has reduced my interest to buy 1000+ USD Fuji 16-55. Then again I'm thinking if there is any rumour like Fuji will release a standard zoom lens like Sigma ones or even better, maybe 16-55 f1.8???? I wish they would. That also almost obsolutes the necessity for that smart adapters for me. So guys, tell me what's yr suggestion n thoughts on the matter? I guess a 16-55 f1.8 should be the first priority for Fuji right now rather than making camera bodies every year. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  2. Hello guys, It's been long I have come here for some help. The forum has always been helpful to me n I am really grateful to u guys. So whenever I'm in trouble, I simply come here. Now I have a few queries as I have recently started shooting photographs professionally. So here are the qs: 1. In BBF, is there any way to activate Eye Detection? Sometimes I find that even though I'm focusing on the face, due to low aperture the eyes of the subjects aren't as sharp. 2. In Bulb mode, is it normal that the flash won't lighten up? I tried a few times but not a single time it worked. What is it that I'm doing wrong here? 3. Anyone using here Godox X1T trigger? Is there anyway to switch off a specific flash while using multiple flash in a channel? Suppose I have setup 2 flashes. Now first I want to test the 2nd flash for rim light n don't want to fire the main flash, so that I can see its output n then I want to activate the main flash. I mean, I don't want to physically go there n switch it on n off. As I have no assistants n in some situation, it's just cumbersome during weddings. Thanks a lot guys in advance. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  3. Yes. Godox latest flashes r cross compatible with different brand x1t transmitter. But please keep in mind, on-camera may not be compatible. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  4. Could u try the 50mm yet??? Thanks again. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  5. I am also in dilemma in between these 2 lenses. My purpose is traditional style wedding photography, not a documentary style. Does anyone have real experience in these sorts of situation? TIA Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  6. That's an awesome piece of advice. Thanks man. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  7. Wow...very nice advice. Thanks a lot. I have decided that as I have bought the Samyang 12mm, I will give a try with it to see how much I can do and like the manual lenses. Then I will finally decide. But I am really overwhelmed with all the suggestions. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  8. Actually I am still to gather the money. But yr suggestion is precise and will help me out for sure. Thanks. :-) Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  9. I think I should have changed the name of thread to something like "in search of perfect portrait lens" because so many valuable information and discussion are coming by. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  10. Wow...so many feedbacks. Thank u guys. I really appreciate your help. This is the best community ever. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  11. I don't know what more to specify. And I am also expecting suggestions, rather than something very specific. And I mentioned earlier I want more bokeh. Anyhow your suggestions were very helpful. If I come to any decision, I will obviously let you know. And I will look into WEX. Thanks again. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  12. Hello everyone, I am new to ACTUAL photography. My present gadgets are a Fuji X-T10 and 18-55 lens. I am going to buy a Rokinon 12mm f2.0 lens. But I am stuck in another place. I have a few questions in mind. It will be great help if someone could just help me to find out those answers. But first, let me briefly tell my situation. I want to buy a portrait lens. While the 55mm end of my present lens serves me well, I want those creamy bokeh. But I am also very short on budget. So.... Q1. Should I buy cheaper lens like new Meiko 50mm f1.2 or wait for a bit more to gather money to buy Rokinon 50mm f1.2 or even wait more to be able to buy fuji 50mm f1.4? Or how about fuji's cheaper 60mm lens? or even slower fujinon 70-230mm lens? Or should I opt for some other 3rd party lens like Canon or Nikon and maybe use them with an adapter? Or should I go for a vintage one altogether? Listen I know very well that the more you will spend, the better quality and options you are gonna get in a lens. So I need suggestions on the basis of cost-benefit ratio because for some less money, I can live with maybe-not-the-best-but-better-quality lens. And one other thing, many people adapt lens to their newer camera because they already had those lens, so it is very much justified for them. But as I want to buy a new one, will it be justified for me to buy other OEM or 3rd party lenses? Q2. Which is the best online market to find vintage lens in UK and USA? Also any good site for vintage lens reviews? To look for vintage lens, which brand should I rely on most? And what adapter system should I buy? Q3. I live in a country where Canon and Nikon cameras are mostly used. So should I import some adapters so that I can buy or use those lenses on my Fuji camera. maybe in future? If so, which adapters should I buy? I understand most newer Canon and Nikon lens don't include aperture ring which I think may become an issue for me, isn't it? Q4. As I said, I already own the Fuji XF 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 lens and taking portraits with it is a good experience for me. So should I go for another 50mm lens with a higher aperture or should I go for higher focal length? As I said, please consider the cost-benefit ratio. Well I know my questions are bit disorganised and amaturish. But I am stuck. So I will really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.
  13. Wow....nice choice there. But it doesn't include a quick access zipper which misses the purpose for me buying a messenger bag instead of a backpackers. But hey, really good choice there. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  14. Wow....I didn't actually expect someone from Tenba could reply me here. Great to see you. I was planning to buy next week. But for your words, I think I will wait. But if there were any glimpse of that surprise u mentioned, it would be highly beneficial and awesome for me, as I said, I have to import it via my friend in UK. And oh I live in Bangladesh. Thanks again for yr reply. It was a sheer surprise of me and makes me feel, no, corporate guys can be social too :-) Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  15. @darknj thank u so much for yr reply. Actually thing is, I have no access to Tenba bags in my country. I will have to import it. And yah, I am stuck between DNA 13 & 15. My current laptop is 15". So if I consider that, I must go for 15" bag. But I am thinking if this 15" bag will be too big for me for day-to-day use. I don't take my laptop outside quite often, but yes I do sometimes. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  16. Hello members, After quite some research, I have decided to buy a Tenba DNA messenger bag due to cost-benefit ratio. I was also intesested into Peak Design's one, but that's just too costly. Anyway, being an average height Asian person (5.6"), I am in dilemma which size should I buy. I need your help and suggestion if u have any experience with this bag or similar kind of bag. My purpose of use is, everyday all-in-one bag but mostly to bring my camera gears. I want to take one Fuji x body, 2-3 lenses, 1-2 flashes, big blower, one portable reflector etc. and occasionally laptop, especially during travel. But if I just keep the necessity for laptop accommodation aside, I am in doubt will the 15" size be big/heavy/uncomfortable/funny looking (considering my height) to carry the bag at all time on my shoulder during street or wedding photography. Should I go for 13" rather?? Please gimme your valuable suggestions. Thanks. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  17. So many knowledgeable replies... thanks everyone... at present I am settled with Yongnuo without HSS. I am keeping an eye on Cactus though. Thanks again everyone. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for yr constructive reply. :-) Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  19. I think you are mad at me because I called you funny. Well please don't be so emotional about it. Your choice is yours. But I started this thread because I wasn't quite aware about the "contacts" fact. That's my bad. If you would have cleared it out, rather than saying some unspecific logics, it would be so smooth for everyone, isn't it? And please, don't keep blaming others. I exactly mentioned I had no problem what u call it - an entry level or beginners or whatever. Why should I be offended about that? It's a camera. Just a camera. I just wanted to know why still there were no battery grip for this camera and if people actually care for it or not.... you guys completely twisted the matter. And that is very immature. I am arguing on what? Did I say any illogical things yet? No. The way you guys responded, I felt it wasn't quite a polite approach, just like someone didn't like my u's and r's and I totally understood his opinion. There was a sense of wining among you guys to prove this is an entry level camera. Ok!!! It is an entry level. Who cares? It doesn't have any contacts for battery grip and that's all matters. End of discussion! Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  20. Again sir, my apologies. It is hard to understand that because it is so common to write in that style these days. This is more of a discussion forum, isn't it? Not an official statement or news website. And I meant no disrespect to anyone with those silly letters. Maybe just a matter of cultural gap I think which as I said, I will definitely try to follow. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  21. Oh I am extremely sorry and apologize if those letters offended you or someone in some way. I probably should have read the forum's scripture first. But it leaves me to an awe to see that, shorter form of such words can really hurt someone in some part of the world in this 2016. Definitely next time I will be careful enough to choose my writing style in here. Thank u sir and yes, I also like to discuss with more knowledgeable people here, not argue and it is nice to know others also share the same mentality.(I hope I didn't make any grammatical mistake this time) Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  22. R u....oh Are you serious? Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  23. Well well well....those who are arguing on the fact that X-T10 is an early level camera, I feel astonished that u r still fighting on this topic which is not the base of discussion of this forum. And besides, I don't actually care what u wanna call it or not. I myself didn't see anywhere it as an entry level camera and I actually have reason to argue on that. U guys wanna win on that, go ahead, u won. I thank to those guys who cleared it out about the absence of contacts for battery grip on X-T10. So that is the actual reason and again I thank u for letting us (people like me who had no idea about it) know. And about making bulky and bigger.....well most of here probably use X-T1. So unless u use the X-T10, u wouldn't realise that the grip of X-T10 isn't so great. It is a bit shallower than X-T1. Those whom I know or have seen in Internet, even some popular photographers, all at least went for an extra grip and they said it made the camera feel more nice in hand. So that's that. Plus changing battery frequently is less convenient than having long backup power, in exchange of having a bit bulk on it. And those who are arguing it will make the camera like DSLRs, think about it seriously man. The form factors of DSLR s are already bigger than a mirrorless. And noone wants a battery grip all the time. But there are times when it is convenient. And also, u don't need it, don't buy it. Who is forcing u? But it's always better to have that option in hand. But if physically not possible, what else to say. And ahhh...someone said, u want grip, buy X-T1, and not, buy X-T10....ha ha ha... that's how u choose a gadget?? U r really funny man. Anyway I hope this thread doesn't turn into a battlefield, which is why Fuji forums are so great, coz people here like to help each other, not tease. Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
  24. First of all, they didn't make it as an entry level camera. Are there any major sacrifices than X-T1??? No!!! And do canons and nikons only provide battery grip for their flagships??? No!!! Actually my intention with this forum was to see whether people want a battery grip for it or not and I actually expected, most will agree with me to have one. And what I have seen previously, Fuji really looks into people's demand and by this forum, maybe we can get attention to them. But probably I am wrong and alone for this. Sorry guys.
